💬 Policy, Power & Progress: Protecting Music’s Future Through Advocacy — happening this Thursday at @mondonyc !
Join @sharonatapper , Josh Hurvitz (@jfhurvitz / @a2im ), Montana Miller (@montanamiller03 / @recordingacademy ), and George York (@riaa_awards / @RIAA ) as they unpack today’s most pressing music policy issues — from AI and copyright reform to fair pay for artists and managers.
This is a must-attend for anyone who believes in building a sustainable and equitable future for creators. Let’s protect the rights of the people who make the music we love.

I took some time away from the studio and from the stage today to advocate for some very important issues regarding AI — While AI is an incredible tool, we must remember that it’s only as intelligent as the information we feed it. It is our duty as creatives and as citizens of the world to protect human creativity, as well as to ensure all creators are compensated fairly for their art and for their contributions to the growing field of AI technology.
Thank you @repglatimer for meeting with us and for receiving our message with open arms, and thank you @recordingacademy for leading this effort! 🙏

🎶✨ Today is Music Advocacy Day! A critical moment to stand up for creators and protect our community from AI theft.
The @recordingacademy / GRAMMYs hosts its 11th annual Music Advocacy Day, bringing members nationwide to meet with lawmakers and champion the rights of songwriters, performers, and studio professionals.
🙏 Huge thanks to @repglatimer and his team, Robert Hoch (Senior Advisor) & Ellen Hendrickx (District Director), for meeting today with @granvillemullingsjr , @sunshine_daydreamer18 , @andytavel , @de_yaz_factor , @david_schoenwetter , and @christiekanska to discuss these vital issues.
American music is a cultural cornerstone and economic engine, yet generative AI companies are exploiting copyrighted works without permission or compensation. Stealing isn’t innovation—if AI giants pay for chips, servers, and energy, they must also pay for the creative inputs that fuel their technology.
⚖️ Congress must act! The bipartisan NO FAKES Act (H.R. 2794 / S. 1367) protects artists from unauthorized AI deepfakes and clones while safeguarding free speech.
💡 Whether or not you’re a Recording Academy member, add your voice: urge lawmakers to cosponsor and pass the NO FAKES Act.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the ongoing LA wildfires, which continue to impact our community.
After thoughtful discussions with members of our LA Chapter, we have decided to move forward with our event on Tuesday, January 28th, from 6 to 8pm, at Desert 5 Spot. Originally planned as our Annual MMF-US Grammy Week Party, this event will now serve as a Wildfire Relief Fundraiser, with 100% of the donations supporting MusiCares.
The feedback from our members was clear: they expressed a strong desire to come together and support one another. Building and fostering community is a core pillar of our organization, and we are honored to create a space where our members and community can unite for a meaningful cause.
Suggested Donation: $20. The event is free to attend, but we suggest a donation of $20, or whatever you can afford!
RSVP Reminder: Space is limited. If you've already RSVP'd but are unable to attend, please let us know at [email protected] so we can accommodate others.
Attendees will receive a welcome drink ticket (while supplies last!).
If you are unable to join us in person but would still like to support, donations can be made directly to MusiCares Fire Relief Resources using the link in our bio. Every donation makes a difference and helps those who have lost their homes and personal belongings.
The road to recovery may be long, but together, we can make a difference. Thank you for standing with us and supporting those in need during this difficult time. Our LA Chapter leadership looks forward to seeing you there!
RSVP using the link in our bio.

New York has the chance to protect #CreativeExpression for artists across the state by passing A. 127. I join @recordingacademy in urging the New York State Assembly to swiftly pass this bill and protect music creators from their lyrics being wrongly used against them in criminal proceedings.
