***5 YEARS HONEY TRAP SOUND SYSTEM***
It’s hard to put into words how meaningful it is to congregate amongst the honey boxes that go brrr.
Something pretty special about women putting on sound. And the magic it has brought my life is pretty obvious. Life long friendships, a platform to explore my artistry, confidence and a place to use my skills, and the discovery of new talents - the ability to create meaningful moments in time, and the understanding that the party is an artwork, from start to end.
Also a privilege and a pleasure to play a small part in sound system culture world wide. Doing it for the women and doing it for Sydney. It’s a pretty magic art form and social and political statement - to take up space, to create community and to heal through dance and movement. Super proud that we are celebrating this journey with you this Saturday.

Naww. I made it! 🫨😵 I have survived!!!!! And have been learning, changing, evolving and growing. It’s been really hard lol. But also a super lovely time!
Done a little mix for the crew at @subjective_eora . I think there is usually some sort of DJ paradox that happens when you record a set coz it never ends up as good as when you’re out and playing for people. But, I’m pretty happy with this one. Lots of different sounds and styles tempos and moods I haven’t mixed much before and sounds that I’ve been rinsing in the NT. Lots of moments of space and dimension. It was fun :-) Thanks for having me!!

Wicked Bandit is an artist, DJ, and event producer from Sydney who’s now living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs).
Whilst in Sydney, she was the Artistic Director of Honey Trap Sound System and producer of The New Style on 2SER. She curated and produced grassroots events and free parties, and released a mixtape called ‘The Cut’.
Wicked Bandit is a sound system enthusiast, lover of deep, dark, heavy beats, bass driven music, and music that celebrates the MC. She loves playing across a spectrum of genres, moving through different tempos and moods. She believes if the DJ has fun, everyone has fun.
In this set, Wicked Bandit plays tunes that have been resonating with her over the past two months in Central Australia. Leaning in to a more spacious and textural sonic landscape compared to her usual Sydney sets. Enjoy!

Curating events and getting to play with and make so many new friends in these magical spaces and places across our city has been one of the biggest blessings and joys of my life. It’s truly made me who I am!!! And made me realise what’s important in life! Art and music and sharing space and time together in community is one of the most rewarding and nourishing things I’ve ever done. I don’t even know how to begin to think about life without it!! And these people that make it all possible!

My last Sydney gig 🥺 come THROUGH for my last time spinning tunes in SYD CITY for a hot minute!!
I’m going on an adventure at the end of the month and so next weekends gig with @strategyyeah and our man @chris_munky is going to be my last public gig in Sydney. I am so unbelievably chuffed to be on this line up and so so excited to be playing at the iconic Oxford Arts Facotry!!! Expect nothing except proper deep dark dubstep from me for this final gig. I’m really excited to warm the space up for such a legend MC and for such a special occasion - celebrating 15 years of @bananabombsrecords !!!
