5 Days to Go. Five days. And then everything we've been building toward happens. A generation of young people walking into a space designed just for them — to be heard, to be challenged, to be equipped. To leave knowing their values are not a weakness. They're a superpower. ICDC 2026 is 5 days away. Are you ready? #ICDC2026 #YourValuesYourFuture #UncleSeleFoundation #5DaysToGo #InternationalChildrensDay

6 Days to Go. The week is moving fast — and May 21st is closing in. While the children are in class, at home, playing with friends, we're behind the scenes making sure that when they walk into that room on Thursday, something shifts. Something sticks. That's what ICDC 2026 is about. Not just a great day out — but a day that plants something deep. A sense of identity. A foundation of values. A vision for their future. 6 days out. Almost time. #icdc2026 #YourValuesYourFuture #UncleSeleFoundation #6DaysToGo #InternationalChildrensDay

8 Days To Go! In just 8 days, children from different backgrounds will gather for a powerful experience at the International Children’s Day Conference 2026 This year’s theme, *“Your Values, Your Future,”* is more than a slogan, it’s a reminder that the choices, character, and values children build today will shape the future they step into tomorrow. ICDC 2026 is a space where young minds will be inspired to believe in themselves, embrace positive values, build confidence, and discover purpose in a world filled with pressure and distractions. Every child deserves guidance. Every child deserves hope. Every child deserves a future built on strong values. May 21st, 2026 is getting closer, and we can’t wait to witness lives being impacted. The countdown continues… #8DaysToGo #ICDC2026 #YourValuesYourFuture #UncleSeleFoundation #ChildrensDayConference

They’re anchors. And every child deserves one. 9 days to go. The countdown is real. ICDC 2026 is here! On May 21st, the Uncle Sele Foundation is bringing children together for the International Children's Day Conference, and this year, the message is clear: Your Values, Your Future. In a world full of noise and distractions, we're giving children something solid to stand on their values. Because when a child knows what they believe, they know who they are. And when they know who they are, nothing can stop them. It's a day of learning, laughter, and life-changing moments a platform where young minds are empowered to own their identity and step boldly into their future. We're not just hosting an event, we're shaping a generation. Save the date: May 21st, 2026. This is ICDC. This is the purpose. Stay tuned for more. #icdc2026 #yourvaluesyourfuture #uncleselefoundation #internationalchildrensday #empowerthechild #lagosevents #nigeriayouth #charactermatter #stoplearningpoverty #purposedriven

If young people do not learn to live deliberately today, eventually life begins to “live” them, then leave them.. I’ve been reflecting on the silent “enthusiasm leak” happening in many classrooms. First, students loose initiative. Then momentum. Then belief. Eventually, the zest begins to fade. This is why values education cannot remain just a conversation. In my recent engagement with 100 students across Lagos, I observed something powerful: Students do not transform simply because they hear good values. They transform when values become: • Practiced • Visible • Measurable • Socially reinforced That is the shift from Values Conversation to Values Action. Through the SHAPE™ Framework and the Captain Excellence ecosystem, we are helping schools build what I call Character Capital, the internal discipline, resilience, leadership, and citizenship capacity young people need to thrive in a changing world. Because eventually, every child will face a season where life tries to “live” them. The question is: Have we equipped them to lead themselves through it? #CharacterEducation #YouthDevelopment #ValuesEducation #EducationLeadership #SHAPEFramework

I never imagined that after studying Law, I would one day write children’s books. I wrote my first book because I had a dream, a dream of reaching children with stories that could teach values, shape character, and spark better conversations, even when I could not be everywhere at once. Today, those stories are being read in schools, on stages, and in spaces I once only imagined. Beyond the books and animations, Captain Excellence is about helping children make one small positive change daily, because values are built one decision at a time. 📚 If you’re looking for stories that inspire character, leadership, responsibility, and meaningful conversations for children… then read Captain Excellence. #ShapeAChild #CaptainExcellence #ValuesEducation #ChildrensBooks #AfricanStorytelling

Everyone is responsible for the growth and development of the environment. 🌍 . . Govern yourself. Then, and only then, can you demand more from government. We often forget: Everyone in government today started as an ordinary citizen among us. The “public” result is always a reflection of the “private” ingredient. # If we haven’t mastered self-audit, we cannot master systemic change. It starts with the person in the glass. 🪞✨ #LookInTheMirror #Accountability #ValuesEducation #SelfGovernance

More Than Words, we are building Character Through Stories. On this World Book and Copyright Day, we celebrate the theme: “Read, Make Your Star Shine.” . . In a world of “instant gratification,” a book offers something rare, the chance to slow down and build a moral compass. We don’t just read to know; we read to become. Why we “Go All In” on reading for our children: . . • Empathy: Stories allow us to walk in another’s shoes, breaking down barriers of “us vs. them” before they ever take root. • Integrity: When children see characters face tough choices and own their consequences, they learn the true value of Accountability. • Identity: Access to diverse stories, especially in our indigenous languages, helps a child say, “I see myself, and I matter.” . . Today, let’s choose a book that challenges our thinking and shapes our hearts. Because a child who reads today is an adult who leads with values tomorrow. . . . #WorldBookDay2026 #ReadToLead #CharacterMatters #GlobalLiteracy

The character gap isn’t a lack of skill; it’s a delay in foundation. We often treat values like a “high school elective,” but character is actually an operating system that needs to be installed early. If we don’t write the script, the environment will. The Early Window: Ages 2–5: Children already recognize fairness and social norms. Ages 3–7: Habit formation peaks. By age 9, most routines are set for life. The Cost: Teens without a “moral north star” face 3x more instability in adulthood. The SHAPE Framework is bridging this gap. We aren’t just talking about values; we are codifying them into a child’s daily life through Social-Emotional Intelligence, Ethics, and Accountability. Let’s shift from correcting adult behavior to preventing character deficits. Partner with us to make character education a systemic priority. Let’s stop fixing broken adults and start building strong children. 🇳🇬✨ #ShapeAChild #ValuesEducation #EarlyYears #CharacterMatters #FutureLeaders

One Goal, Two Dates: The World Book Day Breakdown While both days champion literacy, they serve different purposes: ~ The UK & Ireland (March): This is a high-energy, action-oriented day focused on children. It’s about the excitement of ownership, getting books into the hands or more people. ~ The UNESCO Global Version (April 23rd): This is a tribute to legacy. Observed next week, it honors the giants of literature, while focusing on the “Social” and “Governance” of books, copyrights, publishing, and the preservation of culture. . . Books are the primary delivery system for Character Formation. Whether it is a March celebration of “finding your story” or an April tribute to “honoring the author’s voice,” the core value is Responsibility. We have a responsibility to provide children with narratives that build moral habits and problem-solving skills. Next week, as the world celebrates the power of the written word, let’s remember: A child who reads is a child who thinks. A child who thinks is a child who can lead with values. #WorldBookDay #ValuesEducation #CaptainExcellence #Literacy #CharacterFormation NextGenLeaders
