Meet Navaji!
“I’m exploring a vocabulary that conveys consciousness, reverence, and energetic depth without always relying on narrative explanation. I want to use this container to listen more deeply to what my work is asking for. The core idea I’m exploring is the tension between inner stillness and inner unrest, what I call troubled peace.”
He works in dance and multi-disciplinary arts.
Navaji is mentored by Lisa Nicks
for his Artist Files: Work In Progress, shown on April 25th at Cafe Dance 5-7 pm.
What Makes Wings
(work in progress)
A glimpse into rehearsals over the past couple weeks since being back from France.
This work is being developed as part of the Artist Files program with @shaktimoves.dc ; an ongoing process of research, practice, and creation.

Meet Erica Santiago!
“I am most interested in using movement to capture ideas central to Being Human. I am interested in creating work that invites the audience to feel their own humanity, which requires vulnerability, honesty and trust to be woven through the entire process of creation. I am at a stage in life in which I want to both acknowledge my foundations and peel away the layers so that I may grow in ways I cannot yet imagine.”
She works in Modern Dance
Erica is mentored by Susan Douglas Roberts for her Artist Files: Work In Progress, shown on April 25th at Cafe Dance 5-7 pm.
See you on April 25th for the Edition 1 of The Artist Files: Works in Progress @ Cafe Dance 5-7 pm!

Be part of the creative process in this community based experiment designed to foster conversations between dance makers and the supporters who receive their work.
Meet Hannah Requa!
“There is a deep intimacy to hearing, "I see you," as an understanding of the reality of who you are in that moment. How does one allow for change, growth, acceptance of oneself in the vulnerability of being seen... I want to be challenged to see things I create from other perspectives and make different choices that give deep value to nuance and story, not just technicality. “
She works in Contemporary Dance.
Hannah is mentored by Elizabeth Gillaspy for her Artist Files: Work In Progress, shown on April 25th at Cafe Dance 5-7 pm.
Meet Aidan DeWitt!
“My biggest need as a developing artist is the need for experimentation. To actually go down a longer and more robust path of taking the many, many ideas I carry with me and translating them into reality. This is what I want to develop within myself.”
He works in multimedia: Dance, Poetry, Singing, and Monologue.
Aidan is mentored by Sivakami Sreenivasan for his Artist Files: Work In Progress, shown on April 25th at Cafe Dance 5-7 pm.
