knew I had to do something special when Warriors of Radness Vs. Babylon System landed on Bicycle day.
behold the world's first playable sheet of acid. See what you hear, hear what you see.
The song selected is the bands tribute to Augustus Owsley Stanley, once dubbed by the media as the “Acid King.”
alice d. millionare was only performed twice in 1966: 10/31 & 12/1 and never been on record til now.
a lathe cut record is paired with a photo collage using vintage newspaper clippings about Stanley from the Des Moines Register archives. printed by the mighty @shakedownstyles on blotter paper sourced from @zanekesey . the result: a true DIY picture disc that fully embodies the spirit of the day.
there are 8 different designs. the majority being the Owsley news print design or blank full sheets. there are also single tab and 10 strip in addition to @lotcomedy , @neutral044 & @shakedownstyles chaser variants.
each is packaged in classic acid-tab fashion: foil-wrapped and sealed in a ziplock, in lieu of a traditional record sleeve. ALL RECORDS ARE BLIND PACKAGED, DESIGNS CANNOT BE SELECTED.
