Italy’s own @ldfmusic78 makes his Shadow debut with a fresh slab of raw, analog funk - pressed to wax and destined for selectors who still worship the turntable altar. His new vinyl-only EP entitled Tribute To The Latin Posse doffs its cap to early Chicago house – where 808’s snapped, synths hissed, and basement energy reigned supreme. Landing in your local record establishment tomorrow!

Across five tracks, L.D.F. links up with a heavyweight group of collaborators: @javonntte387 , @gre.productions.llc , @tilman_fine , and @djbohm030303 . The result is an EP that feels like a dusty box of DAT tapes discovered in an old storage unit - raw, immediate, and locked into the groove. A study in machine rhythm, analog imperfections, and the timeless swing that defined the earliest iterations of house. Head to the 🔗 In bio secure a copy

Releasetext:
With releases on Brooklyn’s Major Records and UK imprints Non Stop
Rhythm and Indulgence, DJ Split is a breakthrough producer putting his
own stamp on the classic Chicago house sound. For his Shadow
Pressings debut he has conjured up five original club cuts that will work
their magic on any dance-floor worth it’s salt.
Last Night Baby sets the tone with taught 909 beats, punchy bassline
stuttering vocal hits. Piano chords and a smattering of melodic chimes
and just the right amount of musicality without taking away any of the
raw energy and turbo-charged grunt. Treading a similar path but upping
the BPM’s, XNXX goes for the jugular with gnarly FM bassline and
frenetic groove.
Flip over for Can I T ell You? which goes a little deeper with a rolling
bassline, filtering Detroit pads and strings whilst Step For brings touches
of acid, banging 909 toms and vocal chops. Closing out the EP we have
One In A Life Time which turns up the jack factor with snappy 808
snares, mechanical bass line and deep stabs. DJ Split is a man on a
mission to bang the party and has come prepared with his piñata fully
loaded with big, fat beats n basslines

@shadowpressings continues its mystery-driven approach with another anonymous four-tracker. ‘Trentsetter’ builds on crisp machine drums and rising synth motifs, while ‘Unreleased Slices’ brings acid lines, vocal snippets and warehouse. ‘Dreamed Up To Ec*tasy’ dives into warm, dreamy territory reminiscent of early Larry Heard, and ‘Am I’ goes even deeper with lush pads, liquid bass and spoken-word textures. Comment ‘JUNOPICKS’ to listen
Dusky techno disco tools on this fifth new one from Shadow Pressings, a UK outfit who've here nonetheless titularly alluded to the Chicago house scene. Of course, not all of us can afford to fly out to Illinois on a whim, and many of us prefer instead to let the city's long-release intoxicant effect run its course on the collective ear from a distance. The label-artist here proffers the gruffer stuff, from the grunting percs of 'Tears' through to the smoother high piquancies of 'Lost In The Dance', both of which nail that irreverent, not-too-much mood innate to all the best dance music.

We’ve been loving all the support for @mikeagentxclark - In Da House Club EP! A massive thanks to everyone spinning it on the radio and in the clubs, including some bonafide legends and as always a big thanks to @shinesmine ❤️
Unknow Artist - Mid Level Boss, Bonus Round EP
Out 28.06.2024 on @shadowpressings
Fledgling label Shadow Pressings already made a mark with their debut release in March entitled the Chicago EP, garnering love from Hunee, Terry Farley and Luke Solomon to name a few. Striking while the iron is hot, the label are serving up four more heavyweight club tracks which include acidic edits, crunchy deep house, 808 electro grooves and dusty breakbeats.
Lead track Find A Friend jacks up the perennial classic with 808 rims and toms and additional synths but keeps things loopy and rolling. Holding One Shoe continues with the 808 theme whilst injecting a healthy dose of acid resulting in what sounds like a long lost Yazoo B side filtered through a lysergic lens. Train Of Fools decontextualises a well known acapella making for a deep and techy basement jam which will keep the floor moving and the speaker pumping.
Closing out the EP we have More Music In The Night, which chops up some familiar samples and layers up an 808 electro groove and breakbeats for a fresh take on early 90’s house.
