For my entire life, he has been there, educating me throughout the years on all things related to the natural world. Who knows, maybe he is even responsible for a big part of my personality; the animal loving part. His voice, the gentlest and most calming of sounds, has accompanied so many of the shows that I have enjoyed and loved. He is a giant of broacasting and a giant of humanity. In a world of Trumps and Farages, why can’t we all be a bit more Dave? Happy 100th Birthday Mr Attenborough, you utter and unequivocal legend.
On the set of Cold Fear again, this time fully working the magic of cinema by using miniatures. Mainstream cinema has largely left this creative and effective filmmaking method behind, but this can really amp up the production value on low budget Indy shoot, making something very simple look large scale and expensive! Observing the creative process, bearing witness to the crafting of and then watching the finessing of the score for ‘Sorry’ by my good friend, talented composer, musician and musical director @nathanieldawe was an honour and a pleasure. Not the first time I’ve been in the room when he has shown his epic musical skills. We’ve worked together a lot over the last XX years (no need for that number!!), creating corporate work, musical theatre projects and of course as rap/funk duo Smokin’ Zone. As I said to him the other day, he is my John Williams (which makes me Spielberg!!) and I would love for him to do a lot more composing for film. He will composing for my feature, which is in pre-production now, but hit him up for your musical needs, whatever the project. You won’t regret it! Oh and today just happens to be his birthday!! Happy Birthday bro!! X
