A mother dying. A body finding its way back home through language.
Join
@LizeSpit , Samuel Fischer Guest Professor for Summer Semester 2026, and editor and cultural journalist Malu Schrader (
@malu.schrader ) for a conversation about Lize’s debut novel „Het smelt“ and her latest work „Autobiografie van mijn lichaam“. Together, they explore how writing shapes relationships, parallels, and reconstructions, and why language is not only a matter of the mind, but also of the body. A conversation about growing up in an environment where language can be used as a tool of power and about the price of becoming, and being, a writer.
Jane Chirwa (
@jane.chirwa ) will read excerpts from „Autobiografie meines Körpers“ in German.
The event will be held in English. Free admission, Tickets via Link in Bio!
