The weather this weekend looks like a total washout so I've made the decision to postpone the Georgian picnic till 5/23. But hey that's 2 more weeks to finish my dress! I still hope to see you there!
Option 2 for the #georgianpicnic on Saturday is this bib front regency dress.
Pros- I’m obsessed with this fabric (@virgilsfinegoods ) it’s just so HAPPY. It’s comfy to wear and easy to drive in
Cons- I wore it last year.

Trying to pick an outfit for the #georgianstroll on Saturday. Option 1- my newish jacket from @neheleniapatterns
Pros: it’s cute as heck. I can wear an absurd cap. It’s the best fabric from @virgilsfinegoods as all I want to be in life is Felicity.
Con’s: I made my 18th century stays pre-covid so…they’ve shrunk. I don’t have a less hot but just as cute skirt.
Reminder that our annual Georgian Picnic at @winterthurmuse is this coming Saturday and the weather looks beautiful! This is a very relaxed wonderful low pressure event. Kids always attend and we enjoy sunshine and good company. Hope to see you there!
Day 2 of my Rosings appreciation posts. @country_cousin_costumes sparkled so amazingly in the candlelight and I just adored this wacky amazing wrap she made!!
Gauging interest: if I were to organize an Anne of Green Gables tea at a tea house near me would you come? Tickets would be $50 and it would be in July or August. I need 20 people to make it worth doing.
Photo is @ladyofthewilderness (from @virgilsfinegoods ) looking stunning as alawys
I have to start my post-event appreciation posts with this stunner of a dress that @costumeandconservation made. She hand cut paper shapes and wrapped them in floss!! It looks like embroidery but it’s not! This is a copy of an extant dress and you should follow her for all the details. But wowza it’s a stunner!
Excited to share the Save the Date for next springs event! We're going back to the Victorian era with a Bustle theme! I created an event on FB for anyone who follows me there and will share the Eventbrite when ticket sales go live in a few months.
We will be back at the beautiful @josephamblerinn
I am also thrilled to share that @union_tintype (formerly @vps_gettysburg ) will also be back next year!
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at this years costumed dinner at the beautiful @josephamblerinn I took an embarrassingly small number of photos as I was too busy having fun! But it was nothing less than a joy being with creative, joyful, FUN friends in a beautiful location. I’ll try and shout out some favorite outfits this week as I hope other people took more photos than I did!
I think I’m going to set up a card area at Rosings in April. What are your favorite period card games? Sadly this stunning Pope Jone board in these photos belongs to @thejennylafleur so won’t be joining us.
