Last year we published our first book, Speedburn, an unofficial archive of Sofia Sinibaldi’s studio practice (@sofiasinibaldi ).
Includes the essay “Overexposure & The City” by Jeremy Gloster (@jeremygloster ):
“Spotted lanternflies and Hennessy bottlecaps litter these pages, alongside photographic scans of bongs and cheap jewelry, but so do instruments of quantification: speedometers, watch faces, tape measures, thermometers, analog chart recorders. The unexpected combination of urban detritus and decontextualized metric data initially seems disconnected until we realize these forms of measurement also constitute an invasive force infecting the current landscape, much like the foreign lanternflies or the waterlogged fashion advertisements…”
144 Pages, 8.3” x 11.7”
Edition of 75

Seven Press is excited to announce our next publication. Pre-order now in our link in bio.
A novel in two parts, Failson follows filmmaker Paul after receiving a scathing review of his new art film on the eve of its premiere. Part psychological tragicomedy, part psychedelic love story, the novel’s collagist form is aligned with 20th century literary traditions. A Neo-existential text written by a contemporary artist about a contemporary artist, Failson enmeshes itself in image culture and attempts to map the creative individual against the backdrop of modern life.
Co-edited by Kye Christensen-Knowles and Hardy Hill.
Henry Belden is a fine artist living and working in New York City. This is his first novel.

The publication includes a new text, Overexposure & the City, by @jeremygloster :
“Never content with just one image, just one suggestion, only one methodology, Sinibaldi aggregates photographs and scans of New York into dense compositions, indelible moments of observational experience wrenched into conversation, augmented by all the mishaps of photographic reproduction, whether they arise from manual tampering or the various mechanical techniques to which she submits them.”
Seven is an artist book press by @gabrieljoseberrios & @sofiasinibaldi . SPEEDBURN is our inaugural publication.
