Self Efficacy Through Tooling Theory (SETTTheory) is a format for a recursive event that brings together inter-disciplinarians to share and discuss their ‘tools’ that they implement towards practices of social, political, or environmental change. The first edition will take place on November 09 2024 at 4pm @currentplans during the course of the exhibition "BEAU 2014-2024", the monographic exhibition of the Hong Kong based architecture studio BEAU. beau_architects If each SETTTheory event collects a range of tools from a variety of practitioners of different disciplines organised around a theme, then after a series of events a compendium of tools can be made available to the public and SETTTheory community as a kind of index for transferable practices towards positive change. Each event is organised around a ‘SET’, a collection of tool kits with shared traits. This is SETTT SETTTheory Self Efficacy Through Tooling Theory What is a SETT? A SETTT is a collection of THEORYs with a shared trait. By defining SETTTs, we can identify common threads that point to successful implementation of THEORIES. What makes a THEORY viable? S - SELF: affect individuals and society E - EFFICACY: possess the capacity to make a desirable change T - THROUGH: suggest the form of the desired change T - TOOLING: require a vehicle for the change
