This 9 pound warrior lady (named IGGY) was abducted yesterday morning by a pack of six coyotes from our yard. They hopped the fence and disappeared into Griffith park. We chased after them, found their den (abandoned), and began to give up hope when all our searching and screaming led to nothing.
Then like a fucking heroine, this POW survivor little Iggy emerged from the thicket, battered and bruised, two holes in her head where the coyote had grabbed her to carry her off.
We have no idea how she survived, other than she’s a total badass. How could this tiny dog-baby escape a pack of coyotes? Does she have lion’s blood? Does she taste terrible and they gave up? Who cares, this baby is back home, pumped with antibiotics from the vet and she’s healing up.
Whatever you are dealing with in your life, it’s not like getting grabbed by the face and being taken to death’s door by a pack of killer coyotes. And even if it is, Iggy survived and so can you.
THE WORLD PREMIERE of Under the Rainbow, a film from directors Seth Gordon and Nikki Calabrese will screen on on Saturday Feb 21 at The DGA Theatre 1.
The film follows the theft of the iconic slippers that left a path of calamity in its wake and involved twists, turns and clues that seem like fiction. At the heart of the film, set to debut at the 2026 Slamdance Film Festival this weekend, is “the cultural power of Hollywood mythmaking,” per the documentary’s synopsis.
