L’Etoile de la Rue - The Star of the Street 🌟
This documentary is about Saliou, a gifted basketball player from Patte d’Oie, Dakar. He grew up in the same neighborhood as my father and I see a part of myself in him. He gave me a glimpse of what my life couldve been like had I grown up on the other side of my roots.
Saliou is realizing his dream of making it to the NBA and has made the journey all the way to the United States where he is currently playing High School basketball.
We are doing everything in-house!! From the pre-production to filming to everything in post, its all @wedontca.re .
It’s been two years in the making and we only need to shoot the final chapter…
To complete the story I want to travel to the US to capture him in his new environment and document his new life.

as a product from @flyingstaracademydkrsn he got the opportunity to chase his NBA dream in the USA when he was only 16 years old
In this documentary we follow The Star of the Street in his journey from the street courts in Dakar to the big gyms in the US. Living the American Dream while keeping his eyes on making it to the league
