As part of SLED X SET, @cinnapeyghamy brought his Tonbak-infused electronic music to the stage at @dickensyyc ! He ran his Tonbak through a modular setup to modify its sound and manipulate samples with it. It was an awe-inspiring show and span across many styles of experimental music! It got tribal, it got ambient and then it made people dance!

GOLPESAR (@rouzbei ) took the stage of @palominosmokehouse as part of SLED X SET! He performed a diverse liveset comprising sharp electronic soundscapes, Iranian music samples and a spoken word section reflecting on the current global political landscape! It was a fantastic show full of surprises 🔥

SLED X SET: GOLPESAR
Over the past two years we’ve been thrilled to partner with the Iranian artist-run festival SET Experimental Art Events (@setfest_tehran ), who have curated a selection of electronic and experimental Iranian musicians to perform at the festival.
The project, titled SLED X SET, is a collaboration meant to build relationships between the Iranian and Canadian artistic scenes, and to bring more cutting edge and boundary-pushing music and multimedia art to Calgary and beyond.
At Sled Island 2024, @j.edmund.live and @wistful.jpg were on site to shoot the four acts involved with the project.
For our final video of the series, we get a glimpse of @rouzbei ’s spellbinding performance at @palominosmokehouse , mixing avant-garde electronics, spoken word and Iranian sonics.

Can't be more stoked to continue our collaboration with the esteemed Canadian festival @sledisland this year. The Calgary-based Sled Island is a beacon of excellence in western Canada when it comes to non-mainstream music and we feel honored to be able to curate a handful of Iranian acts for their 2024 edition.
@rouzbei aka GOLPESAR will bring his experimental sounds to @palominosmokehouse@cinnapeyghamy will take the stage of @dickensyyc to showcase his fusion of Tonbak rhythms and modular synth pulses
The drone sounds of @artsvs will fill up @loopholecoffeebar 's intimate space
And last but not least, @niloufar__shiri and @calebklager will perform their collaborative project in @centralunitedcalgary بی اندازه خوشحالیم که همکاری خود با فستیوال کانادایی @sledisland رو امسال نیز ادامه می دیم. اسلد آیلند یکی از قطب های موسیقی غیر جریان اصلی در غرب کاناداست و باعث افتخار ماست که تونستیم امسال تعدادی اکت ایرانی را برای نسخه ۲۰۲۴ این فستیوال انتخاب بکنیم.
