Another epic year at the movies. On the eve of the Oscar nominations let’s talk about 2025 cinema.
I watched a LOT of films this year, including 68 theatrical visits and a ton at home. My top 3 of the year are pretty interchangeable and I love them all equally with their incredible lead performances, astounding captivating scores, and endless rewatchability. Every movie in my top 10 I saw in theaters and all but one I have watched at least twice. Yes, I thought hard about this 😂
Outside of my top ten I have a list of 15 honorable mentions, some of which towards the top could easily be swapped into the top 10 with some time and a chance to rewatch. What were your favorite films of the year, which ones here haven’t you seen or loved?!

happy five year anniversary to “before the fog covers me”! I still have a very fond spot in my heart for this project and it has some of my favorite songs I’ve written on it, including “lost waves crash”.

2024 was a pretty great time for me at the cinemaaa. Here are my personal favorites. Some of them are fun repeat watches and some of them left a massive impact on one watch. Most of these I have watched twice, some more, some only once. I haven’t seen every movie that came out and I’m no critic so I stay away from the term “best” but these are my ten fav certified bangers (and a lotta honorable mentions, it’s basically a top 20 lol).
The Substance is my clear #1 and the others could be in any number of order depending on the day.

2024 was definitely a mixed bag, but there were some really great moments. Maybe the most concerts in one year ever? Some amazing movies, albums, and memories! And lotsa coffee ❤️

The final stretch. I don’t know why I love xmas music as much as I do, but I do. Moreso than the ritual of gifts or the food or the films, there’s something about those songs and melodies that always conjure up the most deep rooted feelings.
