Series, an AI-native social networking app built entirely through iMessage, has officially closed a $5.1 million pre-seed round from investors including Venmo co-founder Iqram Magdon-Ismail, Pear VC, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and GPTZero founder Edward Tian. Founded by Yale seniors Nathaneo Johnson (CEO) and Sean Hargrow, the platform lets users text an AI that curates swipeable “shares” of people looking to connect, enabling private chats without sharing phone numbers. The company, which positions itself as a conversation-first social network rather than an AI app, is targeting Gen Z and professionals and says it now spans more than 750 campuses with strong early retention metrics. Series is now raising their seed round.
