Been struggling with my anxiety a lot this year. As I’ve been putting in the work to identify triggers and develop healthy ways to cope, I am starting to realize that my desperation for love and attention may be the root of it all.
I’ve grown up performing for it, I still do. It isn’t easy to unlearn that. I feel scared that the moment I stop being convenient and acceptable for others I will be discarded.
Through self expression I’ve been able to configure my mind to chase what scares me, and now that I feel less insecure and less afraid to express myself in front of my peers and strangers, I’m ready to recalibrate.
What I’m scared of now is not being accepted, left alone, ignored, unwanted.
I know now that I don’t want to be supported by anything that doesn’t want to support me.
Anyways, thank you to everyone who supports me.
To those who don’t: make yourself known because I am done fighting for your attention.
