The first OptiCos post is finally here! What I want to talk about is an issue which is really common in the make up world: eye pencil on the lid edges. The eyelid margin routine can also be beneficial for office eye syndrome. Most of the dry eyes are caused by meibomian gland dysfunction and can be treated very easily that way. If you have symptoms like eye dryness, foreign body sensation, blurry vision or eye irritation, a tear film scan from your eye doctor or optometrist can help as well to find out what causes your dry eye! Did you know that more and more people have problems with dry eyes? The most common reason is the office work, where we are forced to keep our eyes open longer than usual. Not because of the work time itself, but because we're concentrated and don't want to miss out any second. And it's the same with the time we spend one our smartphone. While we're usually blinking every few seconds, the frequence can reach something around half a minute while we're working on the computer. That's a big challenge for the eyes! Not only dries the eye because the oily layer can't keep up. Additionaly the lipids change from an oily consistency to a buttery one and clog the meibomian glands. Because of that the oily layer gets thinner and thinner. But that's not all. Some people tend to forget to blink completely. The lid fans a bit over the top part of the eye as soon as it dries, but the middle and the bottom part stay dry. Optometrists and eye doctors can see this kind of behavior on the eye. We call it pinguecula. It's a yellowish change of the conjunctiva in a certain area, close to the cornea. You can compare it to really dry skin and it isn't anything dangerous. If your dry eyes are related to the oily layer, make sure that your eyedrops contain lipids. When your eyedrops look milky and not clear, it should contain those. (But don't use those with contacts, it makes them blurry!) Heat therapy and checking for an Omega 3 deficiency is also a good way to treat this kind of dry eyes. In terms of a 'real' dry eye it's hard to get to the roots of the problem. The only thing you can do is use eye drops and keep your rooms a bit more humid. I know eyes are very complex topic and it's not always easy to understand. I do my very best to make it as simple as possible, while giving you all the info you need to understand it. Waited way too long to show you this stylish one! Vermouth was such a random idea, but it was so much fun! I even recreated her sparkly green nail polish ✨💅🏼 But it's interesting to see how my character selection in cosplay has changed. I'm no longer the main character type of person, but more the side characters with less screen time. But more isn't always better, right? And it gets darker and more mysterious. Quite the change. THE ANGLER - RIAS And here we go with the greatest but tiniest food enthusiasts I've ever seen. You came over to visit her? The food robot is way more important. Even if it takes another 30 minutes until it gives out more food. But she could miss the event! You see, since her hooman and possible spare hoomans are incapable, she needs to hunt on her own. And what a great hunter she is... Nothing escapes these small but precise death mittens. But she can talk a lot about her day as soon as you get home. Which is really cute. And did I mention that she is Luzes mother? 👀 The picture was a birthday gift for @sakimaru_sakimaru together with the hairpin (which I repainted to make it look like Rias). I'm really proud of this one. I'd say this is my favourite or second favourite, very close to Simhas Gardener. I love how the colours came out, especially the light play on the big leaf in the background ✨ For the leafs and the river I used a fitting shimmer while the eyes got some gold pigment. So I applied to Volta after not being successful with Pixel and unfortunately it didn't work out. Again. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit sad, but at least I don't take it to heart that much as last time. I know this is not about my quality of work, I think I know where the issues are. But I'm not quite sure how to beat them to be honest. I was so looking forward to have a great photoshoot with Alexiel in the church, but it wasn't meant to be. My lovely owlets: I know you support me and some of you don't understand the situation (at least I heard this so many times after Pixel) and I'm so grateful for it. But - I'm not quite sure if it makes me happy or if it frustrates me even more. So please, don't be too excited. And I'm not interested in Vitamin B or cheatways. I want to get chosen for the things I accomplished myself. I wouldn't be happy knowing I get a slot not well deserved. Will I try it again? Who knows. Will I try to do even better and show them what they missed? Definitely. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - LILLY So for the end of the year I want to share with you a silent tiger lilly, which follows your every step. And I mean it. She's THAT grannie. She knows every gossip topic in the neighbourhood. The couple fight from yesterday? She knows for 6 months already, that he betrays her. The unauthorized garden shed project? Reported to the authorities before it even started. My first meeting with Lilly got me a very lasting impression. I visited her cat mom and had a nice chat with her. I guess I've been studying for the optometrist exams. And there she was. Staring at me from the bushes, like the Michael Meowers she still is. Not moving a muscle. Just staring, hoping my insolent existence would vanish in a blink. But it didn't happen. So she stared even more intense. Hoping she could burn me in stares. But still no flames, no hidden swords, slicing me to oblivion. And then she ran away. Don't get me wrong. She's a cute one at heart and just needs to warm up a bit. I've got to know about her gentle side this year. But her judging gaze, piercing through every layer of whatever is in the way, sure is something else. 😂 #catjobs #aquarelle #catart

THE SEAMSTER [Kali] This time it's our dear cotton ball Kali. The pictures speak for themselves I guess 🙈 As soon as I try to sew anything, Kali is there. Weighing the fabrics, shoving patterns in the right direction (in his opinion), choosing thread and tailors chalk colours or simply checking if I do everything right. He's got very luxury tastes. Not every fabric is suited for Kali. It needs to suit him at least, it must be warm, fluffy or super smooth. Taking measurements is also a very tricky task. Kali always knows how it's done compared to me...I do everything wrong 👀 In his free time, Kali enjoys balls made out of exquisite felted fur (his own) and he loves to play computer games. His second job as a hair dresser is currently on hold as long as Simha has something against Kalis styling tips. Kali is the last one you'll be able to gain at Japan Markt in cologne, but the series won't stop here 🔥 Next up: THE ANGLER THE SUPERVISOR #catart #birmancat #aquarell

THE GARDENER [Simha] I finished the second of the cat job series lately and even started on the third one. There will be 5 at least, but let's see with what I'm coming up in the near future! 😂 So, the story behind this cat job: After Niilos death in November we picked up Simha in February. Kali was really depressed with no improvement in sight. Kali is a cuddly boy and the grand dame would rather decline her food, than cuddle with Kali, at least back then. So I called so many shelters and Simha was pretty much the only one fitting. It would have been perfect, if he'd been used to other cats. It was clear, he wasn't. He was a crazy, anxious mess. Even if he healed and started to trust, he still is a hot mess. If you put ADHD in a cat, it's Simha. A chatty, bouncy Mr Puffeluff with flying fists. But he's a fast learner and a loving boy. And most interested in mommies activities. He needs to be there and wants the attention. Gardening is the most fascinating thing. Soil sniffing, digging through plant waste, watching how I care for any plants...since he reacts really deeply to me, like me he calms down the most with gardening.
