A year in reverse.
While 2025 had some bright spots, it has been one of the hardest years of my life.
It began with 11 hour work days for several months, buried under the pressure of moving a show from audio to video that would only get cancelled a matter of months later. But the summer treated me well, some great times with friends, a fabulous trip to a friend’s wedding and running the on site Alien: Earth podcast studio at SDCC.
I was looking forward to a long overdue vacation in October, but just as my trip began - I ended up in the hospital in Cabo by myself during a tropical storm. From there came a harrowing trip home with the worst panic attack I’ve ever had happening mid flight, followed by a couple of trips to the ER and weeks of being unable to be left alone.
After about 2 and a half months of doctors and tests and medications, last week I was finally able to move back into my apartment on my own. It’s not over yet, but for me 2026 is all about putting my health first. I know this journey will continue to be non-linear, so there may be more bad times to come.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have such an incredible support system, so I know no matter what happens I can weather the storm. A huge thanks to
@marcellapereda for being my number one defender, coming with me to Doctors appointments and demanding they listen to me. To Marcella,
@codysalyer and
@_jamiewilson for letting me live in their homes for weeks. To
@viavessel @b.b.eight @melrubin2 @mikedowdsrunningjoke @becca_zipthesky @alexraguila @meredithwildetherapy @moreblueberries @emiliallyswen and
@goodiesmakes for spending time with me when I needed the company. To all my Doctor friends and family for answering 700 questions, silly or not. To
@schubes17 and Olivia for holding down our podcasts while I was unable to help. To my mom
@natashaddame for sitting with me in the ER for hours and letting me cry to her when I felt so scared. To all my friends and family back in Utah for taking care of me. And of course to
@podandprejudice for being my sleeping soundtrack every night. I can’t believe I got this lucky to know each and every one of you. ❤️
Here’s to a much better 2026! 🥂
