Spring is changing at Sequoia Sake 🍶🌸
This is the final weekend to experience two of the most unique sake releases we have ever crafted before next weekend’s tasting lineup changes.
Our 5-Year Aged Kimoto is a rare traditional sake made using the centuries-old kimoto method, then patiently aged for five years to develop deep umami, earthy richness, soft natural acidity, and layers of mature complexity rarely found outside Japan.
Alongside it is our handcrafted Umeshu, made the traditional way with organic California ume infused directly into Junmai Ginjo Genshu sake instead of neutral spirits. The result is a bright plum aroma, vibrant acidity, and a rich, elegant texture that is more sake-forward and refined than typical sweet plum liqueurs.
This weekend may be your last opportunity to taste these side-by-side in flights — and possibly your last chance to take home a bottle before they disappear from our cellar.

We’re excited to host a special event celebrating Japanese women in fermentation.
On Sunday, April 26, three Japanese women producers from Northern California will come together for a unique tasting experience featuring sake, wine, and beer.
🍶 Noriko Kamei — Sequoia Sake
🍷 Sonoe Hirabayashi — Six Cloves Wines
🍺 Naoko Haruyama — Barebottle Brewing
Guests will enjoy 3–6 curated samples each of sake, wine, and beer, paired with Japanese otsumami (small bites) by Mariko Grady of Aedan Fermented Foods.
The event will also include:
🥁 Live Taiko drum performances by Japanese women performers
🎤 Panel discussion with the producers

To our knowledge, this is the first event in Northern California bringing together Japanese women producers across sake, wine, and beer.
