Introducing Sequitur’s 2024 vintage, DECADE.
Ten years of pruning and tilling. Ten years of bud break and summer bloom. Ten years of honey harvests, lavender bundles and dandelion tea. Ten years walking trellised rows, sowing deep roots and cover crops. Ten years of French oak barrels and Portuguese corks. Ten years spent sorting grapes, smelling ferments, and sharing harvest dinners with hard working friends. Cheers to ten years of Sequitur wine. In honor of the soil, the vines and the people (and fauna) who have nourished a decade of vintages.
We bottled our 2025 estate Sequitur Verjus!! It’s pressed from the green grapes that we cut off the vines midsummer to reduce our yields and improve the quality of our wines. Ver Jus is a delicious substitute for vinegar in salads, marinades and on raw oysters!
Come in for a tasting appointment over the next week and we’ll gift you a bottle to try and report back on. Closed tomorrow (January 30) in recognition of the National General Strike but appointments available the rest of the week.
IT’S PRUNING TIME.
January is pruning time at Sequitur. Michael has been up in the vineyard on recent mornings checking pruning weights, and he's collected some bundles of cut vines. Come by for a tasting at Sequitur and take home a bundle - they can be used as cuttings for a vineyard, burned on your outdoor grill or ….?
While they last. Complimentary from the farmer.
Housed within The Etzel Farm is our winery, tasting room and vine nursery, but tucked behind our century-old barn is Sequitur's owner Michael Etzel Sr.'s wood shop for crafting tables, benches, and toys for his grandchildren. He often puts his love for creating into woodworking, as well as farming. In the spirit of the holiday season, with many dinners ahead for all families, our team has hand-crafted cutting boards of various sizes - which are now available at our tasting room.
Milled from Oregon white oak by Sequitur's cellar-hand Sam, cut to perfection by Michael, and fine-tuned by our assistant winemaker Colin, our small production team has put their hard work into these pieces.
For those visiting us over the next few weeks we’re also offering a complimentary 12” board for those who buy six bottles, and any size board you’d like for twelve bottles or more.
To acquire a board of your own, stop by our tasting room, give us a call, or send a message. We’d be happy to help you take home a piece for your kitchen or dinner table.
A long standing tradition, the in-house pick, brought our crew up to the Sequitur vineyard early this morning to hand-harvest one ton of Sequitur Pinot Noir. With the fruit now being processed in our winery, we can mark the in-house Pinot Noir pick off of our 2024 harvest to-do list.
With a few weeks to go, we're proud of this team for what they've already accomplished. Here's to the rest of this vintage!

The first week of harvest at the Etzel Farm, as seen by our intern Justin.
We've got a fantastic team this year, and though we're just at the start, we're excited for what's ahead. Cheers to 2024!
Tickets to our next @tournantpdx x Sequitur lunch are now live!
We're thrilled to host our second lunch on July 11th, with a slight increase of tickets to host up to 24 guests. Our first lunch in June was magical, and we're looking forward to having more guests join us for an afternoon at the Etzel farm.
Tickets sold in less than a day for our last lunch, so don't miss out! The link to hold a seat at our table is in our bio.
We can't help but reminisce on the 2023 harvest during this cloudy, rainy day in the valley.
While our wine is currently aging in barrel (and terracotta amphora) we are thankful for the help of our mighty harvest crew that helped it get there: Colin, Sam, Jeremy, Justin and Kate. We can't wait to see what the 2023 vintage gives us, and with an inspiring collection of people behind it, there's nothing but insurmountable potential for an incredible result.
As we start into a new year, and the ice begins to thaw, all of us at Sequitur are embracing the calm of the remaining winter months.
Up in the vineyard, the plants are dormant, storing up energy for their spring emergence. We watch through the windows as soft rain and fog nourish the land with all that it will need for the warm summer ahead. And in the tasting room, there is a fire always lit, providing a much-needed warmth and light to bring us inward and together.
We want to offer you the chance to experience our farm during this special time of the year. Throughout the winter on Ribbon Ridge, the days are peaceful and the wine is plenty. Spend some time with us as we embrace the quiet beauty of this season.
We will be back open (hopefully) tomorrow morning, and we still have some availability for this weekend. Escape cabin fever and join us in front of our warm wood stove. Visit our website to request an appointment, or give us call.
