#lvw2026 themed: Health and Well-being.
LVW, commemorated annually on 20- 26 April, serves as a global platform to recognize the experiences, resilience, and contributions of marginalized women. In fragile and conflict-affected settings such as Borno State, intersecting challenges including insecurity, restrictive socio-cultural norms, and legal constraints intensify the vulnerabilities faced by them.
Marginalized women in Borno often encounter barriers in accessing essential services, including healthcare, protection, and psychosocial support. These barriers are further compounded by stigma, discrimination, and risks of violence, which limit their ability to safely participate in community life.
In this context, SEQHER organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to provide a confidential and safe platform for marginalized women to share their lived experiences.
The findings will contribute to evidence-based programming, strengthen advocacy efforts, and inform the design of inclusive, rights-based interventions that respond to the needs of marginalized women.

Through the National Training and Deployment of Community Rights Advocates, Society For Equal Health And Right with other stakeholders came together to strengthen community-led grievance and redress mechanisms that protect people affected by HIV, TB from abuse, stigma, discrimination, and gender-based violence.
Over two days, participants deepened their understanding of human rights frameworks, the VAPP Act, complaint and referral pathways, and survivor-centered response systems. The training created a collaborative space to share experiences, analyze real-life cases, and develop practical strategies for integrating advocacy into complaint and response mechanisms.
This engagement strengthens accountability systems, improves access to justice, and reinforces the role of community advocates in ensuring that violations are reported, addressed, and prevented.
The work continues through capacity building, stronger coordination, and sustained advocacy to ensure safer systems and responsive support for those who need it most.

SEQHER participated in the SFH CARE-2 Stakeholders Review & Transition Planning Meeting in Bauchi, convened by the Society for family Health, alongside stakeholders from 10 states.
The 3-day engagement provided an important platform for reflection, shared learning, and critical conversations on the future of HIV service delivery across states.
We remain committed to working with partners to ensure that no one is left behind, especially the most vulnerable communities who rely on consistent, accessible HIV services.
