Empowering energy stakeholders with access to insights, innovative tech, strong partnerships, and networking opportunities. đâĄď¸ #SeeYourselfWithSEPA
The energy of RE+ 25 in Las Vegas was undeniable, and for SEPA, the real impact begins now. With 40,000 clean energy leaders gathered in one place, the conversations we led are already shaping the work ahead for our members and the broader industry.
đĄ From RE+ to Whatâs Next
âď¸ Grid, Growth, Globe in Action
SEPA President & CEO Sheri Givens set the tone with our three strategic pillars. The transition is a collective relayâbuilding a resilient and flexible grid, scaling growth strategically, and translating global lessons into U.S. action. Next month, weâll continue this work on our Fact-Finding Mission to Portugal, where utility executives will see firsthand innovative technologies, including wave energy and floating PV, and bring those insights back to accelerate progress at home.
âď¸ Turning Insights into Tools
SEPA experts shared strategies on #EVadoption, #DERintegration, #WildfireResilience, and AI-enabled #GridOptimization. Explore our research and resources to see how these insights are shaping the industryâand stay tuned as we continue advancing solutions through member partnerships.
âď¸ Mobilizing Capital for Impact
Our inaugural Clean Energy Funders Forum convened investors, philanthropy, and government leaders to align capital with impact. That momentum is now fueling new partnerships and funding pathways that accelerate clean energy deployment.
âď¸ Carrying Momentum Forward
From SEPA Academy courses to member-led innovation by SPAN, Clean Power Research, Eaton, and Electric Power Engineers, we are embedding RE+ lessons into the tools and collaborations that will drive progress in the months ahead.
The clean energy transition is bigger than one event. What matters most is how we channel the urgency and optimism of RE+ into lasting solutions. At SEPA, that work is already underway â and weâll be on the ground at Climate Week NYC to continue driving these conversations forward.
Hannah Malus, our VP of Strategy and Advocacy was everywhere at RE+ and got a MAJOR win. đ
The momentum was real. Youâll see it in how the day unfolded. Watch to see what made it matter.
Thank you to @SEPAPower & @solarindustry for hosting RE+!
RE+ 25 kicked off with energy and purpose âĄ
Monday's General Session opened with a welcome from SEPA Board Member Peter Muhoro of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and Darren Vanât Hof of Oakland Capital Solutions, setting the tone for a week of collaboration and innovation.
SEPA President & CEO Sheri Givens took the stage, reflecting on SEPAâs journey. From our solar-focused beginnings more than three decades ago to todayâs work spanning every pathway to decarbonization, Sheri emphasized SEPAâs role in cutting through the noise, connecting the right people, and providing insights and forums to help our members move forward with confidence.
The session also featured a keynote with Molly Wood, Founder & CEO of Molly Wood Media, followed by a panel with Pedro Pizarro, President & CEO of Edison International (a SEPA member), and Ray Henger, CEO of Copia Powerâspotlighting how innovation, growth, and bold ideas are shaping the future of energy.
The message was clear: the clean energy transition isnât a distant visionâitâs happening now! We look forward to the days ahead at #REPlus25 as we continue convening, connecting, and catalyzing progress.
đ What sessions are you most excited to join today?
Weâre proud to celebrate our Director of Strategic Projects, Research & Industry Strategy, Kate Strickland, who has been recognized as a Rising Star at the 2025 Womenâs Energy Summit (WES) in Chicago! đ
This honor highlights emerging women leaders who are shaping the future of the energy industryâand Kateâs work driving collaboration and delivering solutions across utilities, technology providers, and regulators exemplifies this impact.
SEPA is also a proud sponsor of WES, and weâre thrilled to see Kate join SEPA colleagues, Ann Collier and Mary C. Palmer, who were recognized as Rising Stars in prior years. Together, they showcase the incredible talent and leadership women bring to the clean energy transition.
A special thank you to WES Founder and Chairperson Sherina Maye Edwards, and the Summitâs organizers for creating a platform that elevates women leaders and fosters meaningful dialogue across the sector.
Yesterday was #NationalNonprofitDay, a day about recognizing mission-driven work. For SEPA, that means connecting more than 1,000 membersâutilities, policymakers, regulators, and technology companiesâto solve the energy sectorâs toughest challenges.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we bring the industry together through education, convening, and applied research to shape innovative solutionsâadvancing the transition to a clean, affordable, and resilient electricity system for all.
đ Our Focus:
Grid: Strengthening the physical and operational backbone of the clean energy transitionâespecially the distribution systemâthrough smarter planning, resilience, and customer-centric solutions.
Growth: Helping the industry scale strategically amid surging demand from electrification, data centers, and emerging technologies.
Globe: Bringing global insights homeâand sharing U.S. innovation abroadâto accelerate progress everywhere.
Through Public Utilities Fortnightly, we also deliver trusted journalism and in-depth insights that highlight the people, ideas, and innovations shaping the future of energy.
Thank you to our members and partners for working with us to move the energy transition forward.
At SEPA, we know that transforming the energy system doesnât happen in silos â it happens through collaboration, innovation, and shared commitment across the entire industry. Thatâs why we were proud to sponsor and lead conversations at the 2025 @NARUC Summer Policy Summit, where 1,500 energy stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem tackled some of the most pressing challenges facing our grid: load growth, reliability, and affordability.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and engaged with our team. We look forward to continuing these critical dialogues!
SEPA is where clean energy conversations turn into action. âĄ
Whether it is grid modernization, shifting policies, or emerging technologies, SEPA is actively engaging in the conversations that matterâhelping members navigate change, make connections, and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Last week, SEPA had the honor of sponsoring New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE)'s 14th Annual Awards Gala.
It was inspiring to hear from emcee Cindy Fitzgibbons, who shared her remarkable journey to becoming Bostonâs first female Chief Meteorologist. We were also moved by the stories of four trailblazing women recognized for their leadership, vision, and impact in advancing a clean, affordable, and resilient energy future.
As we look back on the eveningâs impactful conversations, one message stood out: real progress happens when we elevate diverse voices and champion women leaders in clean energy.
Thank you, NEWIEE, for creating a space that empowers women, fosters connections, and inspires the next generation of leaders. Together, we are building a cleaner, more affordable, and more resilient energy system across New England and beyond.
The clean energy transition isn't just about technology; it's about ensuring access for all.
In collaboration with @cleanenergywrks , SEPA has released a new guide exploring how utilities can use Inclusive Utility Investments to enable on-site energy upgrades through an approved tariffâwithout upfront costs to customers.
