review:
"Sentomea is not a prolific artist. His debut EP, Preface, dropped all the way back in 2017, and while the low-profile Dutchman has continued tinkering in the years since then—the photos of his expansive modular rig that occasionally pop up on social media are a testament to that—none of those creations were pressed onto wax, or even released via Bandcamp.
As such, the Wonderment EP is more than just a new record; it’s a return to the arena, and based on its contents, Sentomea’s skills haven’t slipped in the slightest during his extended break from dance music’s daily grind. Sitting somewhere between house and techno, “Wonderment” and “Wind of Bliss” are both steadily pumping affairs, but what makes them pop is their creator’s fondness for light, color and warbling, almost chime-like melodies. There’s a charming sort of quirkiness at work, and it carries over to the twirly synth tendrils undulating atop the chunky bounce of “Passing Through.”
Things get even more interesting, however, on the EP’s final two tracks, where the Amsterdam-based producer breaks away from the confines of four-on-the-floor beat construction. The clappy, off-kilter “To Spiral” is a kaleidoscopic delight, one that leans into the idyllic soundscapes and otherworldly whistles of vintage sci-fi scores, and the blippy closer “Non-Interference” trundles its way into a zone that’s part deconstructed jazz-funk, part new age. Venturing that far afield may have taken Sentomea the better part of a decade, but considering the quality of the resulting tunes, he ought to be encouraged to fly his freak flag a bit more often."

review:
"Once in a blue moon type producer, Sander Schuurman channels classic, shine-eyed Dutch techno and deep house with a real chef’s kiss touch akin NWAQ or Terrace in the follow-up to his 2017 debut on Delsin
Slotting hand-in-glove to Aroy Dee’s M>O>S, the Amsterdam producer’s hardware sorcery is in beautiful effect on the ‘Wonderment EP’, distilling aspects of early Detroit techno and deep Chi house that inspired successive waves of Dutch and UK producers, but with his own slow-burn, romantic appeal and wow & flutter wooziness that really hits the spot.
It’s skin-tingle, lip-smack stuff that finely mimics or triggers MD flashbacks, most beautifully following lines of thought with a hands-on, live-played guile shared by Jochem Peteri’s best - aye, we talking ‘Dead Bears’ levels! The magic is there from the title tune’s poised restraint - trust, Cheshire cat grins when it drops - thru the exquisite beatdown dream sequence ‘Non-Interference’, and taking in its stride the depth charge bass and harmonic light show of ‘Passing Through’, heart-in-mouth come up to ‘Wind Of Bliss’, and pure kaotic harmonic frisson with 'To Spiral’.
Anyone got a bottle of water? Peaking here."
