As I walked into the House of Representatives Reception, I was surrounded by portraits of distinguished honourables — both past and present.
One portrait captivated me immediately —
a woman with a radiant smile and striking purple earrings:
Rt. Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Foluke Etteh, the first and only female Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria (June 2007).
Her image awakened something powerful within me — a spark of adrenaline and inspiration — reminding me that as women, we are meant to stand tall, firm, and fearless in every space we enter.
During my visit, I had an official meeting, met some of the honourable members of the house, and explored the Media Centre of the House of Reps.
Finally, I toured the National Assembly complex — soaking in every moment, gaining new insights, and leaving with renewed inspiration.
