Art Elsewhere is delighted to announce its latest collaboration with Amelia Bowles on the occasion of her newly commissioned work, The Tide. This commission marks an important step in our ongoing programme dedicated to arts patronage, fostering new modes of dialogue between artists and collectors. By cultivating a more engaged and thoughtful exchange, the initiative seeks to position patronage not merely as acquisition, but as a shared commitment to artistic research and creation. @amelia_bowles_ - Amelia Bowles (b. 1993, London, UK) lives and works between London and Normandy. Her multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, painting, and architecture, exploring the perceptual and spatial possibilities that emerge at their intersection. Bowles investigates the interplay of light, colour, and form, creating works that evoke both sensory and cognitive experiences. Her practice is underpinned by a sustained inquiry into how light and environmental conditions shape perception and well-being. Drawing from natural phenomena, architectural structures, and engineering forms, Bowles develops contemplative environments that invite attentiveness and embodied reflection. Bowles holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Bath Spa School of Art and Design (2016) and an MA in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School (2023).

Thank you @culturalee for the brilliant review of [insert] by Pei-Yi Tsai curated by Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys. Last chance to view this exhibition, it’s on until next Saturday 23 May only! “Tsai’s draughtsmanship is especially striking. There is a precision reminiscent of Jean‑Auguste‑Dominique Ingres in the clarity of contour and anatomical control, yet Tsai’s line also carries traces of Taiwanese visual traditions. Fine black contours and intricate detailing evoke something almost calligraphic, allowing her Taiwanese heritage to subtly permeate the paintings without reducing them to cultural signifiers. Bilgin-Keys has remarked that the strength of Tsai’s work lies in “the tension between what is revealed and what is withheld,” and this exhibition succeeds precisely because it never seeks easy resolution. Instead, Tsai constructs a visual language in which identity remains contingent, fractured, and emotionally charged. Through exquisitely rendered surfaces and psychologically complex compositions, [Insert] positions the body as a site where private memory and broader cultural histories converge. The result is a deeply affecting exhibition that confirms Pei-Yi Tsai as an important emerging voice in contemporary figurative painting.” Full Article in link in bio Pei-Yi Tsai | [insert] Curated by Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys On view until 23 May 2026 20 Club Row, London E2 7EY We are open Thursday-Saturday 12-6pm and by appointment. #Culturalee #SLQSGallery #[insert] #PeiYiTsai #SenemCaglaBilginKeys

Thank you @londonartcritic at @worldoffad for including [insert] by Pei-Yi Tsai in ‘The Top 5 Exhibitions to see in London in May’ amongst such great company! “A mouth and nose, without the rest of the face visible. A head resting on arms, but we can only see the back of the head. These works are all about identity and also about how we often have to conceal it from those around us. It speaks to the artist’s personal experience as a queer person from Taiwan, as seen in one of her paintings, where the outline of their country is tattooed on the neck.” - Tabish Khan Pei-Yi Tsai | [insert] Curated by Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys 24 April - 23 May 2026 20 Club Row, London E2 7EY We are open Thursday-Saturday 12-6pm and by appointment. Thank you to everyone who visited Pei-Yi Tsai’s solo show [insert] at SLQS Gallery. When I first encountered Penny’s work two years ago, I knew the story wasn’t just what we see on the surface, it felt deeply tied to a cultural, social and political embodiment through her own memories. Penny’s work has a particular conceptual strength, it goes beyond ‘style’ into an exploration of queer embodiment and psychological interiority and what makes it so compelling to me is that it feels research-driven and visually intelligent, using a language that engages with contemporary figuration and identity rather than just relying on the subject matter. It’s that tension between what is shown and what is hidden. The exhibition is open at SLQS Gallery until 23 May. We are also hosting A Poetry Evening exploring queerness, sexuality and belonging through the voices of invited poets and an open mic at the gallery on 19 May. Huge thanks to SLQS Gallery and Sarah for everything, and for making this show possible 🤍 @sai_pei_yi @slqsgallery @sarahlqs Installation Images by Rita Silva #peiyitsai #蔡沛倚 #slqsgallery
