what a year! thank u to the new and old faces who have been here thru it all 🫶 I’ve been doing art full time for ~ 6 months now, so while my art v artist this year features all paintings, I wanted to also document and show some love for aaaaaall the other art adventures in 2025. Huge gratitude to the community members, friends, family, galleries, curators, spaces and teachers that are a part of this journey!
happy holidays yalllllll stay safe n healthy 🌀❤️🫶
recent inspo from Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyoacán, where we happened upon a pastel workshop in the garden & I did a quick still life study in a new medium, inspired by Frida and her legacy 🍉
riso prints & sticker for April mail club 💌
a little recap of everything I painted for school this spring since we just wrapped up the semester 💌
switched from acrylic to oils for the first time, and found peace with not loving everything I made while trying to learn as much as I could in the process! thankful for this space and community @art_ccsf 🌀
painting sir stinky a renaissance portrait! I painted one for goose years ago when we first adopted her and in honor of ink joining our family and his bday last week, I wanted to do one for him as well 👑 happy 4th bday stinky!
painted on canvas board with acrylic gouache 💌 #painting #cat #illustration #gouache

my stickers, prints, posters and sticker sheets can be found in the shop alongside lots of amazing diasporic artists ❤️🌀 if we haven’t met before, I’m Lys, a queer Chinese American illustrator based in sf - my work is inspired by drawing from life + figures, and mundane every day moments through a super saturated color palette.
now place has been my new riso home where I found my love for fluorescent pink + cornflower blue, and a new community in sf Chinatown 🫶 so grateful to be a part of this space!
Local Art and Vintage… all I need in life!!!
(But also dogs and plants…💗)
Edit: paintings full title is ‘Tadpole Trip’
(Which is something I can certainly relate to 🍄 🌊 😍)
Thrilled to have discovered @sendoodz through @shreypurohit who lifts up and represents so many artists, when he’s not busy painting his own prolific collection of city scapes or his full-time art span gig😂
my one and only entry for #pleinairpril this year! took a 1.5 hr break from rock climbing in beautiful payahuunadü land (also known as bishop!) in the tablelands with my gouache paints and mini sketchbook 🫶 landscape is one of my weaknesses that I avoid a ton but this was very calming to paint
a big doodle dump of my first figure drawing class with @art_ccsf ! can’t believe I’m wrapping up my second semester being a part time student again already, time flies… probably have about 100 sheets of newsprint filled now 😵💫 these are roughly ordered from Jan - now! gestures ➡️ contour lines ➡️ proportions ➡️ value and mass ➡️ toned paper &negative space ➡️skeletal and muscle studies
if u love figure drawing but aren’t able to take classes please check out @sketchboard.co — they are the reason I tried figure drawing and they do so much for the community and making art accessible in the city and beyond. if you’re able to please consider donating or subbing to a monthly basis if you want to go to sessions often! 💌
last but not least big thank you to all the wonderful models we’ve had over the year!
