Since taking office, every Gov. Shapiro budget has proposed spending far beyond state revenues — and his 2026–27 plan is no exception. It’s Budget Groundhog Day in Pennsylvania: unchecked spending, ballooning deficits and no plan to live within our means. This fiscally tone-deaf proposal ignores economic realities as our state grows older and smaller, setting taxpayers up for inflation and tax hikes. This budget belongs in hibernation.

Did you know the nation’s largest Envirothon event takes place right here in York County? The @yorkccd hosted this year’s competition, bringing together nearly 1,000 third- and fourth-grade students.
Participants studied aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife and a current environmental issue while building teamwork, stewardship and environmental science skills.
I was thrilled to be part of this incredible day and to celebrate the students’ hard work and enthusiasm for learning.
🎉TODAY IS THE DAY!🎉
I'm excited to officially open our new satellite office in Cumberland County to expand access to state services for residents of the 31st District.
We'll be open today and every second Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lower Allen Township Municipal Services Center, 2233 Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill. Stop by for help with:
• Property tax/rent rebates
• PennDOT paperwork
• Birth or death certificates
• Veteran assistance
• Other state‑related services
This new location is all about making state services more convenient and accessible for residents of the 31st District.
It was great to see the @masdwildcats High School's AP Government class at the state Capitol and I'm thrilled my staff was able to provide a tour to students. Its always inspiring to see young people learning about the legislative process, asking thoughtful questions and exploring the most beautiful Capitol building in the nation.
During National Police Week, take a moment to recognize and thank the police officers who serve our communities everyday.
As the wife of a retired law enforcement officer, this week carries special meaning and serves as a reminder of the dedication, sacrifice and personal risk that comes with wearing the badge.
To the officers who show up, step in and put themselves in harm’s way to protect others — THANK YOU! Your service matters and your commitment does not go unnoticed.

I visited @lifepathyork Christian Ministries to see the work they’re doing to support vulnerable individuals and families across York County. I toured their Market Street location as well as the newly purchased Philadelphia Street property that will be renovated into a new shelter location to expand their services. This privately funded organization served over 4,500 guests with a 2.1% return-to-shelter rate which is significantly lower than the the national average.
Grateful for the staff, volunteers and partners who bring hope and stability to our community every day.

I recently attended the @messiah_engineering Collaboratory Symposium, where engineering students presented research projects focused on science and health initiatives. It was impressive to learn how their work is contributing to communities and improving lives around the world. Thank you to the students, faculty and staff for their commitment to innovation, research and service.
Mother’s Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the love, resilience and commitment shown by mothers in our communities. I recognize that parenting today comes with unique challenges, and raising children has never been more demanding. As your state senator, I am committed to protecting the ability of parents to make the decisions that best serve their children and families. Thank you for everything you do each and every day. Happy Mother’s Day!
I’m excited to share that my office is opening a new satellite location in Cumberland County to make state services easier to access for residents of the 31st District!

Stop by for help with:
• Property tax/rent rebates

Bringing these services closer to home is a big win for our community, and I’m thrilled to expand support for Cumberland County residents.
Congratulations Nathan Rupp for earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in @scouting.america . Nathan has shown exceptional leadership through his service for Troop 284 in Lewisberry and his Eagle project, where he built turtle habitats for the West Shore Wildlife Center. I was proud to present him with a Pennsylvania Senate Citation in recognition of his accomplishments and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
As the wife of a retired law enforcement officer, the annual Pennsylvania State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police memorial service is an event I never miss. This year we honored the lives of 5 officers who died in the line of duty in 2025 — including four from York County.
Among those remembered from our community were:
-West York Borough Patrolman Andrew Duarte, who was killed while responding to a hostage situation at UPMC Memorial Hospital.
-Northern York County Regional Police Detectives Mark Baker and Isaiah Emenheiser and Detective Sgt. Cody Becker, who were killed in a September ambush in North Codorus Township.
These brave officers answered the call to protect and serve their communities every single day, and they paid for that commitment with their lives. The profound loss felt in York County and across our commonwealth is immeasurable. Their families, colleagues and the communities they served will forever carry the weight of their absence.
I stand with the families of these fallen officers and with every law enforcement professional who puts on the uniform. We owe them not only our gratitude, but our unwavering support and the resources they need to do their dangerous job safely. May God grant eternal rest to Patrolman Duarte, Detective Sgt. Becker, Detective Baker, Detective Emenheiser and all the officers we honored. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
