A coupla gorgeous gates for Sharni and Jack. The perfect combination of detail, simplicity and creative freedom with the design - honestly a dream job. One of a kind, intuitive, spring bolt style latch on the pedestrian gate, a subtle nod to the considered design that lies within. As well as custom pin bolts on the driveway gates. Off the shelf hardware would’ve been a massive disservice. These gates marked the completion of the front yard remodel, done by the talented Gerry and team @naturallandscapes.australia . Finally our forces combined. It was a pleasure mate. Big thanks for the photos @jack_fenby Flawless coating as per, by @morestel_powder_coaters

Alu Bar Shelves for @honeydripper.hifi - designed by @clairmar The moment this job came through, I knew I was in for a challenge and boy, I wasn’t wrong. Many learnings, much stress. Every step was a delicate battle. But as always, I saw it through and I’m super proud of what I achieved. In particular, the fact all processes were done in house. Raw sheets came in, stunning shelves went out. Forming the large radius with a custom die and hydraulic press was pretty game. But it just had to be done. So I gone done it. Thank you to all involved for trusting me with this job and assisting throughout the process. Mega keen to see these installed!

‘Vernon’, dialled in and here for good. This piece is so special to me and I want you all to know why. Not only does it represent my first exploration into the design world - a design that I will always consider synonymous to the Semple design journey. Something I will take pride in ensuring is available for production until the very end. But being aptly named in honour of my grandfather, Vern. A dearly missed friend. I see this as his legacy living on. Beyond the fact it was first born in his single car garage. Which was my workshop at the time in 23’, back when we lived together. There’s also a shared theme between the two. An unspoken sense of foreverness. Just like the old boy, this lounge will endure it all, in style, exhibiting unmatched stoicism and resilience. Vernon and on, and on.

Alu feature wall for @honeydripper.hifi This project sits high on my list of favourites. Designed by Claire, brought to life by Semple. With a finish, aptly named ‘blotch scotch’ - developed in house. If you look close you can see the marks from my fingers, and trace my movements. It was a harmonious dance, only partially scripted. A balance between intention and fluidity. Interior Design - @clairmar Build - @s.j.weckert Photos - @jonathanvdk_studio

316 stainless balustrade for @wilksbuildinggroup Simple in form, but that’s about all. The first time seeing our work sky high, talk about exhilarating. One floor down, onto the next.

Wavy Pool Fence / Build I’m not sure what the perception is online when viewing a job like this. We do work magic to a degree, but projects like this don’t come about easy. They are riddled with challenges that require patience and creativity to overcome. This game pushes your limits, both mentally and physically, it is tough as. But in the end, we always find a way. The job always gets delivered to the highest standard. I’ve been working on that notion this year. Trusting that I will always get the job done, despite the challenges faced throughout. I used to stress stress stress and that would bleed into my life outside the shop. But the reality is, the job ALWAYS gets delivered. So, I’ve begun to trust myself even more, understand those hurdles are just part and parcel to the work we do, and above all, enjoy the process. Bring it on.

Wavy Pool Fence Fairweather / @studio_gram There’s a lot to like about this job. But I think my favourite part, was how it started. I received a call from the client, who at that point, had called around and couldn’t find anyone willing to take on this job. At that point, for me, it was as good done. I knew I’d find a way, no matter what. There’s a reel following this post. I encourage you all to watch it. Clients past, present and future in particular.

Rust has never looked so good. Patina dictated by its own form and its relationship with the elements. Creating depth no hand could ever emulate. Precisely what we hoped for.

“Brought to life with humans hands, not an offshore assembly line” Steel and Stone tables Designed, built and delivered by Semple Palette and styling by @homesbypennycrompton Semple finished the year with so many exciting jobs, this certainly being one of them. A few years ago in a different venture, I spent most of my time designing and fabricating furniture. I’ve been longing for the opportunity to make more. These tables are not just bought. They’ve been tailored specifically to the clients space and needs. Brought to life with human hands, not an offshore assembly line. With that comes a unique feeling, a certain bond - an attachment, that I believe helps reduce the short life spans with our furniture that we see far too regularly in this day. If you want to experience that feeling for yourself and transform your space, both visually and emotionally, please reach out. *manifesting more custom furniture this year*

What a year, the best yet. (photos are from just the last three months…) Semple was spoilt with a seemingly endless variety of work. Each genre bringing its own unique set of challenges. Looking back, it’s surreal how much was learnt and accomplished in just 3 months, let alone 12. This past year was nothing short of a dream, at times a nightmare, but largely a beautiful dream. That said, once again the dream must evolve. 2026 will see some exciting changes to Semple’s coexistence with design. I can’t wait. Big thanks to every client, supplier and mentor that help me keep this business buzzing. Special thanks to Tom, Semple’s first employee. I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you, mate. Kind regards, George (message approved by Jim)
