Nourish 15-16 Nov, Tokyo. Link in the bio. Reconnecting with the land. With the hands that coax life from soil, and the hearts that weave quiet magic atop it. Today, we listened, to the patience of the fields, to the breath of the seasons, to the artistry of those who make nourishment possible. As we shape Nourish, Beyond the Plate, we hold close the lessons of those before us, the reverence @nomacph and (formerly) @inuajp brought to Japan’s farmers and foragers, rooted in humility and shared purpose. But reverence is only the beginning. We must do more, to protect those who feed us, to end extractive and predatory habits here in Japan, to center the grower, the gatherer, and the land in every act of creation. Nourish, Beyond the Plate is a forward-thinking gastronomy symposium where culture, creativity, and cuisine meet. Designed as a two-day AERU experience — Artistry, Explore, Research, Understand, it invites world-class chefs, culinary innovators, and creative thinkers to explore what lies beyond the plate. It is not just about food but ideas, systems, and connections. From test kitchens to cultural labs, Nourish examines how gastronomy can drive sustainability, shape community, and inspire new ways of living. Rooted in Japan yet global in outlook, Nourish is where the next generation of chefs and cultural leaders gather to reimagine food as a medium for change, one that brings people together, challenges convention, and creates lasting impact. This is where AERU lives, in the space between giving and receiving, between chef and farmer, soil and soul, offering and gratitude. Through AERU, we remember: the land is not a resource, it is a relationship. And every plate begins long before it reaches the table. 🌾 #SemiPermanent #Nourish #AERU #BeyondThePlate #RegenerativeCulture #FarmToTable #Japan #CulinaryEthics #RespectTheLand #InSeason @fiestafarmjpn @justinkhanna @j_duron_ @ryohaga__ @alvnco @_mmmmmmm_y @kare_martens @semipermanent

Ricoh GR IV back in October in Hong Kong. An incredibly powerful pocketable camera! This camera has always been in my orbit. It’s constantly in the hands of fellow photographers, but I’ve never actually spent time with it myself... Until now. I really enjoyed it! It’s intuitive and designed well for one-handed shooting. The true standout is the colour science. Even just the standard profile is perfectly engineered for the colours and specific tones I always look for in my own storytelling. Anyway, here to say: OKAY, I GET IT. I always knew it was good but yeah, go ahead... gimme the "I told you so." Thank you @ricohgrhk for letting me experiment with a new shooting experience I thoroughly enjoyed. My chubby fingers kept accidentally pressing the exposure compensation buttons on the side LMAO #ricohgriv #ricohgr #grsnaps #shootgr_hongkong #shootgr

Societal is turning ten and we have no idea how to put a decade of design and strategy into words. But here’s some notable moments nonetheless: 1. Building brands as beautiful as they are complex 2. Partnering with @squarespace as a guest speaker at the 2023 Semi Permanent Creative Festival 3. Collaborating with local brands who start small and grow wild with potential (looking at you @more.matcha_ ) 4. Selfishly enjoying the fantastic food and drinks our clients serve up daily 5. Evolving from the solo-days of Brown & Co to a team of passionate professionals, dedicated to creating social change through brands 6. Spending endless days workshopping logos, refining visuals, talking strategy and devouring Pinterest 7. Featuring in @semipermanent alongside Australia’s top designers and agencies 8. Falling in love with every one of our clients (we truly get to collaborate with the best people) 9. Palm trees always 10. Societal’s first ever logo design Here’s to another ten years 🍻

Breathwork en masse led by @wearesomm_ founder @clairerobbie 🙌🏼 The power of conscious breathing has been known for eons. The yogis knew, so did the Daoists, the Tibetan Buddhists, Japanese Zen meditators, Native Americans, other indigenous cultures, the Sufis and the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Westerners tend to need science before they try anything but at @wearesomm_ we think history and the wisdom of these traditions speaks for itself. Stay tuned for beautiful and powerful breathwork practices at SOMM in November. We are also looking for an experienced and trauma informed breathworker to join our team. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more. ✨

“I think the most important outcome of the meditative process is the unlearning the old unhelpful patterns and ways of being. Then there is possibility, newness, curiosity and that is “moksha”, that is liberation.” - cr

Its crucial for us designers to have a frequent and consistent design discourse. Be it a simple talks, conference, exhibition, or even festival. Extremely rare opportunity, esp here in Indonesia. And for us to produce more and more design leaders and thinkers, we need to do it properly, in a global scale if we must. So we can always learn to be better, and do better for our community. SemiPermanent is one of the proper example, 20+ years across the world and still going strong.
