The official conference hotel is the Marriott Winston-Salem. When you stay at the official headquarters hotel, it makes connecting with colleagues easy.
The cut-off to make reservations is September 2nd, but don’t wait till the last minute and risk the room block selling out.

Call for Proposals!
We are opening a call for proposals for instructors for the 2027 Jekyll Island Management Institute (JIMI), taking place January 19–26, 2027, on Jekyll Island, Georgia.
As SEMC celebrates its 75th anniversary, we invite instructors to help shape the next generation of museum leaders through this flagship program.
The unifying theme for 2027 is storytelling. Instructors are encouraged to consider how storytelling intersects with their area of expertise and how it can strengthen communication, inform decision-making, and deepen institutional impact across museum functions.
We seek museum and museum-adjacent professionals with strong teaching and facilitation skills to lead 90-minute, highly interactive sessions.

The Mississippi Department of Archives & History (MDAH) and the Southeastern Museums Conference will present a one-day exhibit planning workshop on June 15, 2026, at the Two Mississippi Museums in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. This program is offered as part of SEMC’s 75th Anniversary Legacy Forward Learning Series.
Are you planning a new exhibit? Are you looking for advice on exhibit standards for artifacts, mount fabrication, and budgets? Led by MDAH curatorial staff, this workshop will provide attendees with practical advice on developing an exhibit from conceptual design to installation, with ADA considerations in mind; gathering, documenting, and staging artifacts; installing exhibits in historic spaces, and more.
Designed for museum professionals at various stages of exhibition development, this hands-on workshop offers an opportunity to strengthen planning strategies and implementation practices.

The six U.S. regional museum associations are excited to announce an open call for instructor applications for a new series of online learning modules for the Museum Learning Hub!
The Workplace Transformation Through Management Training Initiative, funded by a National Leadership Grant for Museums award from IMLS, will expand offerings on the cross-regional Museum Learning Hub to build the capacity of frontline and middle managers. The 24 training sessions/workshops will cover these topics:

• Interpersonal Relations, Wellbeing and Self-Care
• Strategic Thinking and Change Management
• Financial Management
• Project Management
• Employee Life Cycle Management
