We also celebrated a major milestone with our very first Selfless Love Academy Graduation.🎓 Youth embarked on a year-long journey, completing more than 150 hours of leadership training. Watching these young adults boldly share their dreams reminds us exactly why this work matters.
And we’re closing out the first quarter, with a full circle moment from the Gomez family whose journey began at an Adoption Connection event and led to a beautiful adoption day with sisters Aliya and Ariana. This is what it is all about, connecting children to forever families and changing futures for the better!💖🎉

🤠 Based in Texas, Ted has been instrumental in spearheading Selfless Love’s expansion in the Lone Star State and across the country. His nearly 2 decades of experience in child welfare plays a key role in deepening partner relationships and advancing our mission to support children and youth impacted by foster care.
As an adoptee himself, his connection to this work is deeply personal, bringing both passion and purpose to everything he does.

Our Young Adult Services team is hosting a Summer Life Skills Training event for youth ages 13 to 23 currently in care. This interactive session will focus on building supportive connections, navigating resources and preparing for life after foster care.

Simone and James connected with Leland at a partner recruitment event. Their commitment to Leland was evident long before he officially entered their home, reflecting their deep sense of responsibility and care. Simone and James went above and beyond by transporting Leland to numerous medical appointments, prioritizing his health and well-being while building trust.
They shared, “Before Selfless Love Foundation, our resources were limited to our local organization. SLF expanded our scope, exponentially. SLF also informed us about the event where we met Leland. Veronica, Adoption Connector, especially has been a huge assistance to us, always helping us stay on top of everything going on and any questions we might have had. SLF changed our lives.”

Lori Shattuck & Caitlin Saucier graciously hosted an intimate Summer Styling Soirée in the Palm Beach Penthouse where a portion of the proceeds benefited the Selfless Love Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children impacted by foster care. From curated fashion moments to heartfelt conversations, the afternoon was a celebration of community, style, and purpose as we closed out the season. 💖 Every adoption journey begins with opening your heart. 🎉 Congratulations to Leila and Wayne on finalizing the adoption of their son, Dalton! They met Dalton at an adoption connection event and bonded over video games and hobbies.
The initial connection grew because Leila and Wayne chose to mentor Dalton before moving into the adoption process. This ensured that Dalton had a well-paced transition and a chance to build trust. With time and patience, their bond deepened, and they all agreed to become a forever family! 🧑🧑🧒

🏛️Our Advocacy Director, JR, and Youth Programs Director, Kendra, attended the Child Welfare League of America Conference. They had the opportunity to connect with child welfare professionals and experts with lived experience on future initiatives, improved policy, practice, and new possibilities to best serve children, families, and their communities.✨
During CWLA’s Advocacy Day, our team headed to Capitol Hill to inform Congress about the real-world impact of federal policies. These discussions help guide legislators as they make decisions on policy and funding.⚖️
