As a person born two years before the nineties in post-Soviet space, I am close to the theme of markets. Once upon visiting Navtlughi flea market, I was captivated by the atmosphere preserved there from my childhood. That’s when the idea came up to freeze this in the format of a photo project. I decided to make portraits of all sellers who agreed to it. Later, I added shots of shelves, each one telling its own story for me. In the process of my visits to the market, I realized that it would be great to give these portraits as gifts to the heroes of the exhibition. Moreover, it seemed only natural to exhibit photos right at the place where they were taken, immersing viewers into the very environment they see on the pictures.
Мне, как человеку, родившемуся за два года до начала девяностых в постсоветском пространстве, близка тематика рынков. Однажды оказавшись на барахольном рынке Навтлуги, я был захвачен сохранившейся там атмосферой из моего детства. Тогда и возникла идея заморозить эту картинку в формате фотопроекта. Я решил сделать портреты всех согласившихся на это продавцов. Позже к портретам я добавил снимки стеллажей, каждый из которых рассказывал для меня отдельную историю. В процессе моих походов на рынок я понял, что было бы классно подарить портреты героям выставки. Более того, казалось естественным выставить фотографии прямо на месте съёмки, заставив зрителей погрузиться в саму среду, которую они видят на снимках.
