SELFX002 hits the digital world!
Self Learning System presents a new 5 tracker: Only Drowning Men Could See Him, by label co-founder DJ Unisex, is offering a raw mix of contrasting styles. Atmospheric patterns and hazy synths get irritated by off-kilter Breaks which praise the unconventional. Focussing on experimentation this EP embraces imperfections and challenges the norms of listeners.

After almost one year of party hiatus we’re back at Neue Welle for a big one.
Setting up the booth in style with lots of synthesizers and turntables, bringing some real vibe to the floor.
Two live acts, two DJs - just like it should be.
It all starts with 120 mins of discjockey action by Friedrich Ernst warming up the club in discoid fashion. Expect some serious 80s funk when Surf Dancer picks up the Mic, known for his Rainbow Man EP released on Bordello A Parigi - also working under the alias Acid Hausmeister - he surely will deliver some live Synth Pop and Italo freakness. Afterwards Ida Bux takes over programming a modular live set, seamlessly blending different genres of electronic music as you can hear on her contribution to the Acid Reflux EP on Uncanny Valley. Rounding up the night and closing down the floor is the task of DJ Unisex: prepare yourself for some proper 303’s and beating drum rhythms - Chicago warehouse style!
TRACKS:

3. @criminalsuspect_ - Energy Wars ( self released )

We continue our labeltalk format to present a local record label with deep ties to our station. In Düsseldorf, we had Arne talking about his label ‘Themes of great Cites’.
In Leipzig, we are very happy to present ‘Self Learning System’ live and on the airwaves. The label is run by to long term residents of the Station, DJ Unisex & Friedrich Ernst. The label stands for stripped and rough elektro. Recently the vinyl label also saw a cassette compilation to light, that opened up to slightly different sounds.
How does online radio and running a record label interact? What drives their inspiration and output?

Leipzig based Label SELF LEARNING SYSTEM and ZfK Bremen team up to upload a very special program for you this spring.
Self Learning System (SLS) is a record label from Leipzig founded by Friedrich Ernst and DJ Unisex. After the 12“ EPs like „Wildstyle Fusion“ their fresh release in spring 2024 called „Electric Vandalism“ pulls together tracks by Viikatory, Olivia and Electrodefender.
They believe in DIY minded artists creating music for humans not machines. They protect individual likeness at all costs. They are the blood in the machine. They are curating the "Popular Problems" event series.
In the aftermath of this release our battery is more than energized to upload a special program for you to Spedition Bremen, which contains artists from different networks.

Join us for the third round of Popular Problems at what not only feels like our new homebase: Neue Welle Club. This time flexing the musical boundaries between Detroit Electro and UK Bass with special guests Acidfinky, Prantel and cracra. Expect everything that breaks and gets your head shaking!
We’re kicking off the night with Orgia member and thriving energy behind Tarmac Festival cracra. Known for diverse sets between Dub, Jungle and everything with lots of Bass she will set the right vibe on the floor and for sure challenge the Function One speakers. Afterwards Berlin’s finest, long time friend of the label and Twisting Knobs founder Acidfinky will join forces with Antidotes very own Prantel. The Two DJs are known for well selected and diverse vinyl sets, never afraid of the new and recent stuff but definitely inspired by the old-school. Uplifting closing duties for the label founders this time. Unisex & Ernst are prepping New Beat, Dark Disco and lots of Drum Rolls for the long overdue B2B reunion.

SELF starts 2024 with an international affair. Electric Vandalism is the logical result of decentralized networking that has never been dependent on the “pay for play” logic of agenda-setting magazines and platform gatekeepers. On the contrary, we are definitely interested in abolishing it - see the title of “12”.
B2) DJ Unisex brings the pulse down cold with “Conflict Data”, makes the subjects despair under vibrating mirrors and nails the claustrophobic groove with a perfect acid line. What is grace?

[SELFOO4] Electric Vandalism - Various Artists (Snippets)
A1) Viikatory starts "03" with Autobahn-pads and an assertive beat, which develops in a straight line in the second drop, giving the bassline extra life. Many people know the newcomer from Minsk from our tape compilation or from her gig at Leipziger Neue Welle.
A2) In "I Need Your Energy", Swedes Luke Eargoggle & Freddy lay a catchy melody over the 808 pattern, which develops a certain Modern Trips quality in combination with the repeating dialog. Luke runs the legendary label Stilleben Records.
A3) The West Coast Dutchman Edo8 is no stranger to Clone, if you know what I mean. With "BreakOne" he aims straight towards Detroit jit in tempo and style. The syncopated, floating bass barely catches its breath between saturated drums. This track will fire up the deviant electro kids at the end of the A-side.
B1) We were able to introduce Olivia, a producer from Krakow, at the first label party at mjut in Leipzig. She regularly releases tracks on the Rotterdam label Pinkman and forms the duo Radiation 30376 with Chino. Her track "Grzybnia" aptly fits perfectly with the interwoven filter movements over the harsh industrial beat.
B2) DJ Unisex brings the pulse down cold with "Conflict Data", makes the subjects despair under vibrating mirrors and nails the claustrophobic groove with a perfect acid line. What is grace?
B3) The Frankfurt Electrodefender has the answer with his forgiving "Cronberg In A Dream": dopamine synth pads point to the funk dancefloor, the white sneakers are ready and the red tracksuit demands robotic moves. After the vandalism, the sun always rises again.
