Learning my worth changed everything.
I stopped reaching and started rooting. I've learned that worthiness isn't about validation; it's about the returning, the choosing, the becoming-the truth.
worthy is my first jazz debut, a genre I love deeply but feared embodying. If I'm being really honest I didn't feel good enough to release this song, isn't that ironic?! I made it in 2019 before covid, sat on it, convinced myself I shouldn't attempt to sing after all these years of smoking.. I didn't quite feel worthy.
I kept the song to myself at first, then shared it with a small group of friends, beautiful people who endlessly encourage my creative expression. I used the lyrics as a mantra:
