What am I looking forward to in 2025? Getting this project funded and built.
The African American and Hispanic Veterans’ Memorial in Syracuse, NY honors local veterans from all six branches of the US military. The flag is used as inspiration for a public gathering space in Kirk Park. Veterans’ real stories are told beneath the flag in spaces designed for families. A grove of trees grows out of the stars creating a quiet space of contemplation.
Some of you are waiting for baby photos. I’ll post some of this baby first.
Thanks Demar @offtopdesign for helping to shepherd this first edition of ADU 1s and 2s into existence.
I am extremely excited to announce that “We Outchea: Hip-Hop Fabrications and Public Space” has been acquired by @nmaahc as part of their permanent collection. The acquisition includes the 9-square collages, the rendered perspectives and elevation, and the stoop model, along with all associated digital assets.
"We Outchea" was commissioned by @themuseumofmodernart for the 2021 exhibition “Reconstructions: Architecture and Blackness in America” and was subsequently exhibited at @eversonmuseum for the solo exhibition “Sekou Cooke: 15-81” in 2022.
Special thanks to Kyle Simmons @thundachunky Pin Sangkaeo and Benson Joseph @snobs._ and @syr_arch
