On this day, a year ago, we got married. Life began for me in a very different way.
And if there’s one thing this year has taught us…
From the outside, marriage can look so beautiful.
The photos, the smiles, the little moments people get to see.
But what people don’t see is everything that happens in between.
The effort it takes.
The patience you have to learn.
The way you have to stop in the middle of a moment and choose how you’re going to respond… putting your ego aside, and instead of just reacting.
Because marriage has a way of showing you who you really are. Especially when you are spending every moment with that person.
Not just the good parts… but the parts that still need work, understanding, and growth.
And we’ve felt all of that this year.
The highs, the challenges, the moments that tested us…
but also the moments that brought us closer than we ever expected.
We’ve learned that it’s not about being right.
It’s not about winning or proving a point.
It’s about choosing each other… listening to one another especially when it’s hard. And that’s a beautiful feeling. That’s maturity. Thats integrity.
It’s about choosing patience, having grace and focussing on the good in one another, even in the middle of a difficult moment.

And the truth is, the beginning isn’t always easy.
Those first few months can be the hardest, because marriage challenges you and tests your strength while you’re learning each other in a whole new way. You can’t let go.
