This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and we’re sharing some simple ways to look after your mind, along with support available across Sefton 🫶
🗣️ @seftonfamilyhubs are here for children, young people and their families to make life that little bit easier. Pop in to your local Family Hub for a chat with our friendly teams, find your nearest one through the link in their bio!
📚Head to your local @seftonlibraries to grab a new read and switch off from the busyness of day to day life. Research shows as little as six minutes of reading can reduce stress levels by up to 60%, lower heart rates and ease muscle tension.
🐚Get outdoors and enjoy the Sefton Coast or green spaces around the borough. Walking and fresh air can really help clear your mind.
🤸Move your body by visiting your local gym or joining a group class with @active_sefton - Exercise is a great way to de‑stress and boost your mood!
🧠You can also find support at Sefton In Mind. @seftoncvs
Sefton In Mind brings together organisations across the borough to help improve mental health and wellbeing, with support available for a wide range of needs 💚
Head to the 'Sefton in Mind - Mental Health Support' option in our bio.

Marine in the Community was honoured to receive a Civic Award last week at Bootle Town Hall. This award recognises the outstanding work delivered by the charity and its volunteers over the past seven years. We are extremely proud of our entire team, and in particular the invaluable contribution made by our volunteers each week.
The warm welcome, friendly faces, and inclusive environment provided by the team—alongside a wide range of activities, games, and health and wellbeing sessions—have helped establish Marine in the Community as a significant provider of community support across Crosby and Sefton.
Sefton Council commented:
"Because in the game that really counts—supporting those in their neighbourhood—Marine in the Community are champions week in, week out.
Their compassion, dedication, and community spirit represent the very best of what local organisations can achieve."
Marine FC is extremely proud of its charity organisation and the work it delivers on a weekly basis. Well done to everyone involved—keep up the excellent work.
A special thank you to those who presented the award:
Les Byrom, Councillor
Jen Corcoran, Councillor
June Burns, Lady Mayor
Jannet Grace, Councillor

We’re so excited to welcome our next cohort of Mindful Artists this Wednesday, so we wanted to share a little glimpse of what to expect from our sessions!
Our mindful drawing sessions have been so well received, and the feedback is consistently amazing - from people rediscovering their creativity, to people finding themselves after difficult life circumstances, and others simply enjoying a calm, supportive space each week
Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll be creating a supportive space to slow down, connect, and explore art together with no pressure, no experience needed, just a chance to give it a go!
We can’t wait to meet everyone and begin another journey of creativity and connection ☺️
We are very proud to be supported by our wonderful partners & friends at Sefton Social Prescribing, Brighter Living, and Sefton CVS.

We're thrilled to share a new video from our recent event in partnership with Sefton Council for Voluntary Service (CVS).
The day brought together community organisations from across Sefton who had previously received seed funding grants to develop mental health research activities. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the results of the funding project and reflect on the importance of community-led research.
