The work begins with the continuous collection and accumulation of language and imagery that construct the notion of the “girl.” Words, symbols, and visual codes endlessly reproduced through magazines and mass media shape socially constructed ideals of girlhood. Yet through persistent repetition, these signs gradually lose their original meanings, remaining only as hollow surfaces detached from reality. By tracing this process, the work exposes the “girl” not as an authentic individual, but as a fictional representation manufactured and circulated through systems of language and image.
