Breathe Out 🙂 For a long time, I had it backwards. I used to think that breathing in was what calmed the body. But it turns out our nervous system works the other way around. It’s the exhale that helps us relax. When we slow down our out-breath, our body shifts into calm mode. That’s where the magic happens. So here’s your reminder: Breathe Out 🙂

“I’ll see you when I see you. 😁” On the train, a man sits down next to me. Maybe in his mid-40s. He looks slightly unsure of himself and asks, “Which station do I need to get off at for Partnachplatz?” (He wasn’t quite sure where he was going.) We talk a bit — I tell him I’m heading to a coworking space, that I run my own company. Then he starts sharing his story. He used to work on houses, hands-on, full of energy — until a car hit him. Since then, his left side has been paralyzed. He had to relearn everything: eating, walking, using the bathroom. All the basics — wiped out in an instant. But he didn’t stay down. He slowly built himself back up. Now he volunteers with the German Lifesaving Association (DLRG), doing what he can. He said: “Just sitting at home… that’s not living.” And then, as we parted ways, with this smile: “I’ll see you when I see you. 😁” At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to talk more . But I’m really glad I did. This short, unexpected moment stayed with me. It reminded me: How quickly life can change. How much we take for granted. And how much quiet strength people carry. We pass each other every day — on trains, in lines, in silence. And sometimes, if we pause, really pause, you get to witness a whole life — raw, real, resilient. This was one of those moments. I don’t want to forget it.
