This release is a special one for us because it really touches our minimal side that got us on the dance floor and into the music scene to start with.
It is nice to have created a track that resonates with so many people that all wanted that stripped back sound back.
We always aim to just make what feels right in the studio and once we found that sub bass, we knew exactly what direction we were taking this track.
Then having Beltran (Smack Yo) himself ask for an early copy we knew we had got the track to where it should be…
We’re in a time where House music and the wider scene is largely saturated with formulaic approaches and trend-chasing. Sonic diversity has disappeared from a lot of established labels. Sugar is a statement against all of that.
It’s built on a 1 of 1 custom groove, recorded live as a jam. No traditional structure - it lives and breathes on its own, taking the listener on a journey.
No bells, no whistles, just vibes. It’s raw and emotionally charged, capturing the attitude of early House music. Each element builds on the next to form a cohesive groove, with the vocals telling a story that unfolds naturally.
This is house music with soul, made with genuine care for the craft.
