Good bye give away was a success! Thanks everyone who came and helped put stuff to use and helped put some money in our pockets to pay for the storage unit of gallery essentials until the time when we open again. Special thanks to Brendan @circle_rva for clearing up today. Head to Circle if you missed us yesterday ❤️
It will be six years to the day on 02.07.2020 that Sediment has been open to the public and held our first art exhibition. I’m not good at these public reflective summaries of awe and gratitude, but maybe it’s enough to just say that I am in awe and feel so much gratitude. The building is for sale, prospective buyers have walked the space. We aren’t sure how much longer we have here. There is no firm timeline. Rolling with the tides like sediment does. I want to simply appreciate all we have done for the past six years. So here’s to all the people who have exhibited their creative work, performed live sounds, curated shows, assisted in the essential minutiae that keeps this place running, and to those who have moved us to be more human and responsive in this world. And of course thanks to everyone who has been to our shows, shared their experiences, and supported us and the community organizations we’ve hosted here. I hope you can come through to see the upcoming shows we have scheduled for the next months, or longer!... 💗 I wish I could tag everyone but of course that’s impossible and incredibly tedious I hope you understand. Hugs to you - that good, loving hug that has no emoji to replicate.
Sediment will be open from 3-6pm today and following Saturday’s through July 15th. We are happy to finally be able to share the exhibition, Relic Drift, curated by Debbie Quick. We are maintaining a clean space for you and visits are limited to 1-2 people at a time and face coverings are required while inside. You can also make an appointment for a viewing on our website or message here.
