Manning House | Behind the Kitchen Concealed behind a dark steel framed reeded glass cavity slider, the butler’s pantry was designed as a quieter continuation of the kitchen, maintaining the same design language, joinery profiling, and a tonal palette, while allowing the more functional elements of daily living to recede into the background. A secondary space, resolved with the same level of consideration as the rooms intended to be seen. Manning House | Quiet Corners As featured in @vogueliving One of the home’s two original front rooms, retained and refined as a study and sitting room. Wall panelling and oak herringbone flooring were introduced to bring rhythm and subtle formality, while relaxed sheer white linen romans soften the space and bring a gentler contrast to its structure. A considered interplay between formality and relaxation, shaped through materiality and restraint. We just had to share this beautiful Paddington home in Sydney's inner east with Interior Design by @sedea_au as it struck us instantly for its quiet confidence and thoughtful balance. A project that pays deep respect to the home’s heritage, while gently ushering it into a more contemporary way of living. What we love most is the seamless transition between old and new — where traditional bones meet a relaxed, easy-going family lifestyle. The interiors play with contrast in the most elegant way: decorative details softened by pared-back forms, warm cosiness balanced with a sense of calm. Subtly feminine, richly textural and layered with organic tones, the space feels welcoming and refined without ever trying too hard. There’s just a whisper of glamour — enough to elevate, never overwhelm. A beautiful example of how heritage homes can evolve gracefully, honouring their past while feeling completely at home in the present.
