Congratulations to SECURE Lab's @chiara.mcdonald for receiving a Student Presentation Award at the Canadian Sex Research Forum (CSRF)! 🎉
For her Honours research, Chiara surveyed 389 LGB individuals across British Columbia, conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis to explore discrimination at the intersection of relationship status and sexual identity. Her findings highlight the importance of considering intersectional identities in relationship research to better capture the complexity of people's experiences.

Single people are often placed into different subgroups of "happy" and "sad", but it is likely that they experience the ups and downs of singlehood simultaneously.
In this study, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 single participants, with the goal of identifying benefits and challenges that together reflect the complexity and nuances of singlehood that single people must navigate.
From this, we identified three themes that show that being single isn't just about struggling or thriving. It's usually a mix of both!
