SSR032 is the metalcore masterpiece “Predator” by @thetasteofblood.sc
Originally out in 2005 on @tribunal.records Predator would be easiest to classify as metalcore but it’s so much more than that. There is strong hardcore influence as well which keeps the rhythm of this record extremely interesting and unique. Add elements of old school death metal and you have some of the meanest music to come out of the early 2000’s.
The guitar work on this record is technical yet absolutely punishing. Some of the grooviest two steps from the era but then breakdowns that come out of absolutely nowhere. The drumming is just as aggressive as the guitars and that double bass tone is iconic from those early days of metalcore. The vocals are such a perfect fit to complement the instrumentals. Bouncy and mean is my favorite way to explain them. Derek follows the rhythm of the guitars so perfectly. I never got to see these guys back in the day but I can only imagine how intense their shows would be.
The Taste Of Blood is also a bit of a legacy band with some pretty prominent members going on to play in some huge bands. Chase Fraser is in my opinion one of the most important guitarist to come out of the era. His style is so unique and joining Animosity was such a perfect fit for him. Derek Rydquist also went on to front The Faceless on Akeldama and Planetary Duality which are 2 of the most important albums to come out of the early 2000’s. It’s crazy that TTOB is kind of a jumping point for these members because they are absolutely dripping with talent. The musicianship is top notch throughout their entire discography.

A few small updates:
@elysia_ad open preorder is only up for a few more days so make sure to grab yours before it’s too late.
@from_the_shallows tests were approved about a month ago. The plant told me they were gonna press those and @knivesexchanginghandsnc at the same time, so those shouldn’t be too far off.
SSR032 is right around the corner and it’s a metalcore masterpiece with a few members who went on to start some huge bands afterwards. Been dying to announce this one for awhile.
SSR033 is a hidden gem with a genre I haven’t done yet. It also has some of my favorite art to date. Hope you guys show it the love I think it deserves.

Here is your The Burning Wind spread. @intakt_vinyl killed these as usual. The vinyl turned out just as chaotic as I was hoping for to match the music.
