After four years, and several amazing opportunities we could only have dreamed of, Secret Space has come to an end. Hello friends, Dean here; in a lot of ways (for me personally) New Heights is the spiritual spark in the Secret Space discography. I know a lot of our more well known tracks don’t sound quite like this one, but when I listened back to it recently I felt the match flick of inspiration in this track. Its maybe the most atmospheric piece we’ve written, in the same universe as say Beyond The Display or Stars, but with the sonic menace of AntiHero. The centerpiece of our S/T EP, this song always felt like the point that Secret Space crystallized from an idea into a reality, and I know won a lot of you over in the listening process as an “aha, this band has something different to offer” moment. New Heights recently had a random spike in organic reach and made me really sit down, take stock, and revisit the track with fresh ears. And maybe that’s what this track has always been about. “I look back cause I was never there.”
