May 26 | 6-9PM | 401 N 1st Ave MPLS, 55401 Pursuit & The Elusive — Official Screening & Vinyl Release Event Join us at @theresidency_mpls for the official release screening of Pursuit & The Elusive, an experimental immersive VR film that toured the international festival circuit throughout 2024 and 2025, earning multiple selections and awards including wins at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival and Bangkok Movie Awards. The project was also selected by The Meteor Station VR Film Fest, Festival Internacional de Cine con Medios Alternativos, Sound Unseen Film + Music Festival, and Social World Film Festival, among others. Created by collaborators Lady Midnight, Laura Robards and Brian Skalak, Pursuit & The Elusive is an interdisciplinary virtual reality performance work designed for 360° viewing through a VR headset. Expanding upon Lady Midnight’s album of the same name, the film transforms the album’s music, themes, and emotional architecture into a surreal, immersive world exploring addiction, grief, psychological inheritance, and the cycles we unconsciously repeat. Blending experimental cinema, immersive technology, noir storytelling, and the recursive logic of early video games, Pursuit & The Elusive follows a private investigator haunted by the death of her father as she pursues a shapeshifting figure through a fractured psychological landscape. Drawing inspiration from Hamlet, Jungian shadow theory, and the immersive possibilities of virtual reality, the work collapses the boundary between internal and external reality, inviting audiences directly into the protagonist’s unraveling consciousness. The film was co-written by Laura Robards and Lady Midnight (Adriana Rimpel), directed by Robards, with cinematography, editing, and visual effects by Brian Skalak of Second Sight Visuals. Lady Midnight composed the score and musical foundation that inspired the project’s creation. Film screening half past every hour, vinyl DJ set by Mr. Neighborhood @mischark , Lady Midnight merchandise for purchase, and light refreshments will be served. #independentartist #film #music #vr #minneapolis

Last night’s Protest Projections show was put on by Second Sight Visuals and Art You Heart. This was free to attend and featured over 30 Twin City artists. It was really fun to see this in person, and there was a lovely sunset to kick off the show. #abolishice #minneapolis #protest
