Before Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD, became the chief medical advisor at Nutrafol, the number one dermatologist-recommended hair growth supplement brand, she had already built an impressive career as a dermatologist for over 20 years and had become internationally recognized for her expertise in skin of color. She served on the faculty of the University of Miami as the school’s first director of skin of color after attending medical school and completing her residency there. She then created a line of skincare products designed specifically for women of color dealing with hyperpigmentation. She also founded DermFriends, an online resource to provide solutions to common skin and hair concerns. Today, while using her expertise to empower Nutrafol customers to feel confident in their hair, she also actively mentors students, gives lectures, and dedicates herself to research. Rachel Hochhauser always wanted to be a writer, but after studying creative writing and history, she graduated into the financial crisis and began her career at an ad agency as a strategic advisor. She ended up confounding her own creative agency, Major Studio, in 2016, where she served as partner and brand director. Almost by accident, Hochhauser also cofounded Piecework, a brand of fun and artful puzzles and gifts. That said, her dream of becoming a writer never quite went away. So, in 2023, she began writing what would become her debut novel, “Lady Tremaine”, which came out earlier this year to incredible success. The book is a feminist retelling (or “untelling,” as Hochhauser calls it) of “Cinderella” and was named an instant New York Times best seller and a Reese’s Book Club pick. Today, she continues to run Piecework and is currently working on her second novel. Tune in to Second Life wherever you get your podcasts to hear more about Rachel’s journey. Susie Wolff always knew she wanted to race. She started kart racing at just eight years old and eventually transitioned to professional racing in 2001. She raced for British Formula 3 and DTM before finally achieving her dream of joining the F1 team in 2013. In 2014, Wolff became the first woman in 22 years to take part in an F1 race weekend at the British Grand Prix. Then, after retiring from professional racing in 2015, she cofounded the nonprofit Dare to Be Different and moved to the business side of racing, taking on the role of team principal and later CEO of Venturi Racing. In 2023, she was made managing director of F1 Academy—a women’s-only racing series where she remains today. In addition, Wolff’s debut book, “Driven”, comes out April 28. Before Courtney Smith became the renowned Enneagram coach, consultant, and author she is today, she lived multiple lives. She started off earning a degree in mathematical economics before attending Yale Law School and graduating with her JD. After passing the bar, however, Smith decided that being a lawyer was not her true passion. She then pivoted to consulting, where she worked at McKinsey & Company, and then transitioned to work in-house at Condé Nast to restructure the business. She briefly worked for a real estate start-up and even debated becoming a doctor and completed a post-baccalaureate pre-health program at Columbia. After becoming a mother, she joined the board of Planned Parenthood and received her masters in public health from NYU, but had to pivot again due to the pandemic. After this shift, Smith, who was very familiar with the Enneagram personality system for guiding her own winding career, decided to hone her skills and use the tool to help others. Today she works with individuals—including Brené Brown and Fortune 500 companies—as a coach and consultant. She has also co-authored the book “Choosing Wholeness Over Goodness: A Process for Reclaiming Your Full Self.” Tune in to Second Life wherever you get your podcasts to hear more about Courtney’s journey. Renee Montgomery always aspired to be in the world of basketball. After playing D1 college basketball at the University of Connecticut, she was drafted fourth overall by the Minnesota Lynx and went on to play professionally for 11 seasons across multiple teams. In 2020, Renee opted out of the season to focus on her activism, and the following year, she retired from the WNBA altogether. Very shortly after retiring, Renee became the part owner and vice president of the Atlanta Dream, the team she ended her career with, making her the first former WNBA player to do so. Today, Renee continues to lead the Atlanta Dream and also runs her own clothing brand, C Suite 21, and the media production company Think Tank Productions.
