Our team had a wonderful visit with the staff of @ontherisecambridge , one of our longstanding nonprofit partners in Cambridge. On The Rise is a daytime community and Safe Haven for women, transgender, and nonbinary people moving through and recovering from homelessness. The Safe Haven (pictured) provides a welcoming space where participants can shower, nap, enjoy lunch, access clothing and toiletries, receive mail, and use a computer, all while cultivating long-term relationships that foster safety and belonging and increase well-being. Second Chances has provided clothing and accessories to supplement OTR’s beautiful clothing room since 2005. This process not only supports folks in our community, but it keeps garments in circulation, helping divert more than 3.5 million pounds of clothing and textiles from landfills.
