Hello lovely people!
Just a quick note to say that we are both taking a little break to recoup after the season. We are knackered but really looking forward to getting back to it once we’ve had a little sleep. We’ll be away from today (Saturday 25th April) to Sunday 3rd May off and we’ll be back at it from next Monday.
Orders made from today will be sent on the 4th and we are very deliberately not checking our emails but we will get back to you next week - we promise! Thank you for bearing with us and a big, gigantic thank you to everyone who has supported and invested in us over the last cashmere season.
You are sensational.

There is something so special about a well-loved, hand-repaired jumper. It is why I do what I do, and exactly why I created my Cashmere Repair Kits. 👇
Last year, I received four of the softest cashmere pieces with a simple, beautiful request: repair them visibly.
To me, visible mending is a gentle act of rebellion. It is about choosing care over convenience and celebrating a garment’s history rather than hiding its age. To keep these repairs as buttery-soft as the originals, I used reclaimed yarns from @secondcashmere . By rescuing and respinning discarded fibres, they have created the perfect zero-waste solution for our most precious knits.
Ready to start your own mending journey?
My curated Repair Kits and individual yarns are now live on the website. Whether you are feeling the calm richness of Mustard and Lilac or the bold contrast of Cobalt and Earthy Brown, there is a palette for every piece.
I’m passionate about keeping these fibres in our wardrobes and out of landfill. Will you join me in this initiative?

Our next chapter at Handpicked is about bringing together people who share our values.
People who believe in buying better, wearing more and building a wardrobe that actually works for real life.
That’s exactly why @secondcashmere felt like such a natural fit.
I met the team at Rheged earlier this month and just knew. Their whole focus is giving beautiful cashmere a second life. Rescuing pieces that still have so much wear left in them and putting them back into circulation where they belong.
They care deeply about quality, about reducing waste and about slowing things down. Taking something that’s already been made and making sure it’s worn, loved and valued again.
It mirrors everything we believe in at Handpicked. Thoughtful choices. Great quality. Nothing throwaway.
We’ve started with a small drop of cashmere knitwear. Soft, easy pieces that feel good the moment you put them on and just work in your everyday wardrobe.
More to come… the second parcel lands next week and it just keeps getting better. Cashmere accessories are on their way and I already know you’re going to love them.
We are super excited about this one! We’re hosting our first ever End of Season Sale both online and at our studio in Glasgow in a week’s time!
To say a lovely big thank you for a truly gorgeous cashmere season, we’re doing 20% off on all our secondhand cashmere knitwear throughout the weekend. Keen? Here’s what’s happening…

The textile and fashion waste problem in the UK is overwhelming. As a small business that deals with waste, we’re sometimes astonished by the things people throwaway. With the positive rise of resale platforms like Vinted, Depop and eBay, it’s easy to think that the fashion waste issue is shrinking. But with 1.4 billion items of clothing thrown away in the UK every year, there is quite clearly still a disconnect between how we feel about the clothing we buy and how we feel about it once we’ve worn it it few times and it’s no longer new (to us).
A lot of people have mentioned that a lack of basic sewing skills prevents them from keeping hold of damaged clothing but with the emergence of the likes of The Seam and Sojo in the UK, as well as plenty of local menders available across the UK, there’s still a big question about why folk get rid rather than repair.
We’d love to know your thoughts!
